Located in the village of Saint-Matré, in the heart of the Quercy Blanc region, this B&B offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and a 5000 m² garden. Meals can be enjoyed on the terrace during the summer months. The en suite guest rooms at Les Escaliers de La Combe are colourful and offer free Wi-Fi internet access. Also available at this B&B are log cabins equipped with a fridge and offering shared en suite facilities. A continental breakfast is served each morning at the B&B. Evenings meals are served outside during the summer months or in the dining room and include wine from the region. With free parking available on site, the B&B is located 32 km from the centre of Cahors and 45 km from the A20 motorway. This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties. Please note that the swimming pool is an above-ground pool, measuring 1.3 metres high. It is open from April until October. Wi-Fi is not available in the log cabins. Escalier de la combe

We had a wonderful holiday at Coen and Ilse. What a nice place, where we definitely want to come back.
We've been to escalier de la Combe during the baby and toddler weeks. Ilse and Coen understand very well what you still have as parents to have a relaxing holiday.
Fun treasure hunts in the area, delicious breakfast and evening food prepared with love, an hour to yourself in the morning while Coen takes care of the donkeys with the kids.
We enjoyed it very much.

A paradise on earth

A paradise on earth! Everything checks out here. And so we enjoyed almost three weeks carefree at Ilse & Coen. We were there during the toddler weeks in gite L, in which there is everything you need. With a comfortable bed, hot shower and convenient kidsproof decor. (And unique mushroom bed!)
The food is fantastic, including the children's meals. Fine recognizable food for children, served as a party and healthy too!
Because of the small scale, our dreumes could walk around safely. The donkeys are everybody's friends. Everything has been thought of for parents and children, which makes it so relaxing.
The ultimate is that Ilse and Coen know the region so well and their guests feel perfect. Every morning a tailor-made advice about the content of your day. Including supermarket, playground nearby and restaurants with good food where they even know the children's menu. For the first time I dared to trust the ideas of others;) The treasure hunts for ages 3-10 are great, so children walk along enthusiastically and you really see all the picturesque places and panoramas. Or a beautiful bike ride very precisely indicated. They also know the best outings to castles, caves, animal park, swimming spots, climbing forest etc.
Children enjoy themselves all the time, as parents you naturally meet each other. But we have also regularly deliberately withdrawn to have time for our family or time to read, a game, a drink, etc. That is just possible and did not feel crazy to clearly indicate that need now and then.

Lovely holiday spot

Very nice, small-scale campsite in the middle of a beautiful region where there is a lot to do. Coen & Ilse are super sweet owners, who do everything to give you a nice holiday. The treasure hunts they have mapped out are highly recommended: the children have a purpose while walking and in the meantime you discover all those beautiful villages nearby. The campsite itself has nice spacious pitches, nice views of the (sunflower) fields, nice breakfast too. Ilse also spoils you with delicious meals during the table d'hôtes, and very nice when the older children can help serve. Really a nice place to completely unwind and enjoy!

Heerlijke plek, echt onthaasten!

Wat een superfijne mensen en een heerlijke plek om echt te onthaasten! Wij verbleven eind juli bij Ilse en Coen in een safaritent en vonden de week veel te snel voorbij gaan. Een gemoedelijke en kleinschalige domaine met twee lieve ezels waarbij aan alles gedacht is; welkomstborrel voor de ouders, een ‘ijsbreker’ spel voor de kids om snel vriendjes te maken, een informatie uurtje om snel alle highlights uit de omgeving op een rij te hebben en speurtochten in alle omliggende dorpjes. Iedere ochtend stond er een ontbijtje klaar en ieder heeft zijn eigen badkamertje in het sanitair gebouw. Met als grote kers op de taart de heerlijke kookkunsten tijdens de aanschuiftafel waarbij ook de kids een serveerdiploma konden verdienen. Kortom, een hele dikke aanrader!

Toppertje!

Ik kan dit domeintje echt alleen maar aanraden. Wij hebben er echt een heel toffe week gespendeerd: leuk speelbos, tof zwembad, superlekker eten (zowel voor ons als voor de kids), leuke sfeer, mooie regio, ... Wij kunnen er niets negatiefs over zeggen.
Coen en Ilse doen echt hun uiterste best om iedereen een ontspannen vakantie te bezorgen. Ze staan altijd klaar voor advies op maat van de leeftijd van de kinderen. Ze hebben speurtochtjes in omliggende dorpjes waardoor de kinderen gemotiveerd worden om dorpjes te bezoeken en je ziet de dorpjes ook op een andere manier. De kindjes krijgen een cadeautje als er 2 speurtochtjes worden opgelost. Geef toe... dat motiveert :D
De kindjes mogen ook helpen serveren. Onze dochter vond dat fantastisch, voor het serveerdiploma dat erbij hoort.
Ben je op zoek naar iets kleinschalig met kleine kinderen: Boeken, zouden wij zeggen!
