Inn is a Treasure!

St. John’s, 4 nights at the Georgetown Inn, Mary Room.
This Inn is a real treasure! It has a great history and the hosts, Cindy and John, are welcoming, professional, caring and they have a great knowledge of the house and the city. The Mary Room is more like a suite. It was large with two beds, one queen and one single. The modern bathroom is across the hall, with a nice big bathtub/shower. The complete breakfast is prepared and served by the gracious hosts. We had an individual table, marked with our room’s name.
We highly recommend this Inn!

The Georgestown Inn is the best, by George!

What a delightful time we had at The Georgestown Inn in St. John's. Cindy and John were warm, welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts, made with local treats, were plentiful and delicious, and Cindy's knowledge of the area gave us plenty of tips for things to see. The rooms were spacious, (we stayed in the Beth Suite), clean, and quiet.
We will certainly put this on our itinerary the next time we come back to Newfoundland.

We had a wonderful time here on our honeymoon! Hosts were absolutely great and gave us lots of suggestions and advice. The location is nice too - walking distance to downtown and lots of sights.

No need to stay at a big hotel in St John's, pick this B&B

We have travelled around Newfoundland for 1 month and stayed in lots of B&B's. There's usually something missing in each. Not necessarily something big, but something. Not here. Cindy and John have thought of everything. From the meet and greet when you arrive, carrying up your bags, hand knit slippers you can keep, made to order breakfast, comfy beds, great shower, communal fridge to store your drinks in, etc..... Yes you have to walk across the hall to the bathroom for most rooms, but they give you robes to use. I'm so glad it was recommended to us. I hadn't even thought of a B&B for St John's. We stayed at The Alt at the start of the trip, which was really nice, but I like the Georgestown better, and it's less money with breakfast.
It's also really close to most things. Only a 20 minute walk to George Street and you can taxi back for $10-15 if you don't want to walk up the hill at the end of your day.

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the Georgestown - the immaculate room and comfy bed, the history behind the property, being within walking distance of almost everything we needed and the delicious made-to-order breakfast each day. But what made our stay most memorable was our hosts, Cindy and John, who were so kind, welcoming, generous and attentive. We hope to be back!
