If it’s wellness and not luxury, this is your place

I came here expecting a luxury hotel with wellness features – this isn’t that, but honestly, that’s not a bad thing. The accommodation is basic and general hotel service isn’t amazing, but it’s a fantastic place to unwind. It turned out to be exactly what I needed without realizing it.
The wellness facilities are excellent: infrared and traditional saunas, hammam, pool, hot tubs (the outdoor one is huge!), cold plunge, and beautiful relaxation rooms. Sitting in the outside tub under a starry sky with the firepit flickering nearby was pure magic.
I had two massages – both inexpensive and absolutely fantastic. The therapists are incredibly skilled.
Rooms are simple but clean. No TV (it’s a wellness retreat, after all), no kettle or coffee machine (still a mystery), and the bath products could be better. The hair dryer was a struggle with long hair, but for the price point, I can’t complain too much.
Restaurant hours are limited, but the staff are wonderful – genuinely kind and accommodating. The menu is anti-inflammatory (no milk, cheese, or dairy), which surprised me (my fault for not researching properly) but the food is presented beautifully. The last meal I had – couscous and falafel – was outstanding.
It took me a day or two to find my rhythm here. I missed the orientation, and reception can be a bit short when you ask questions. I almost left the first night, but I’m so glad I stayed.
Overall: Not a luxury retreat, but a true wellness escape. Peaceful, restorative, and just what I didn’t know I needed.

Marked deterioration at Spa Eastman — End of long-standing relationship

Loyal guests of Spa Eastman for many years, with family and friends, we hesitated for a long time before publishing this review. The Eastman Spa is a major employer in the area and several staff members offer outstanding service. We would also like to highlight the quality of the hospitality and professionalism of Audrey (kinesiology), Ilona (naturopathy), Manon (reservations) and Alex, Julie and Geneviève in the dining room.
That said, our last stay, from October 19 to 22, 2025, marks the end of this relationship.
A room in the main pavilion had been reserved to avoid changing rooms, which were frequently described as cramped and deteriorated. However, the three nights were marked by insomnia, with the constant impression of moving around the room, an impression shared by our friends in the adjacent room. At reception, we were confirmed that other guests had complained about rodents, with the following response: “What do you want, it’s time of year, they’re looking for warmth.” An apple found gnawed in the bedroom (photo) was concrete proof of this.
Added to this is an obvious deterioration of the facilities: insufficiently heated infrared saunas, blankets often absent near the indoor pool and rest rooms, damaged furniture in the dining room and bistro.
In terms of catering, despite four years of announcements of a change of chef and revision of the menu, it remains essentially unchanged. When we arrived, the restaurant was closed to guests for lunch, reserved for a group. Founder and CEO Jocelyna Dubuc explained that the Spa’s mission is now focused on education and groups. Arrival at the Spa is scheduled at 4 p.m.; the only option is to pick up trays at the restaurant and bring the often lukewarm food to the adjoining bistro.
We are familiar with the administration’s usual discourse of “depth of the wellness approach, team of experts, day-to-day operations and personalized consultations” aimed at real and sustainable transformation. We ourselves have long embraced this vision.
However, no mission can compensate for deficiencies in sleep, hygiene, comfort and condition of facilities.
Under these conditions, the experience no longer justifies the expectations created by the establishment. We leave the Eastman Spa with regret, but after a reflection imposed by the facts experienced during our last stay.

Nous sommes sincèrement désolés que votre dernier séjour n'ait pas été à la hauteur de vos nombreuses expériences passées parmi nous. Nous comprenons votre déception, d'autant plus après tant d'années de fidélité, et nous vous remercions également d'avoir souligné le professionnalisme de plusieurs membres de notre équipe. Nous leur transmettrons vos bons mots.
Les situations que vous décrivez concernant votre chambre, votre confort et certaines installations ont été prises très au sérieux. Depuis votre séjour, les chambres du pavillon principal ont été entièrement rénovées afin d'offrir un environnement encore plus confortable à nos invités. Les travaux se poursuivent actuellement au hall d'entrée et aux vestiaires, dans le cadre d'un projet visant à bonifier l'expérience globale de nos visiteurs.
Depuis près de 50 ans, notre mission est d'offrir un lieu où le bien-être s'exprime autant par la qualité de l'accueil, des soins et de notre approche que par le confort des lieux. Nous espérons sincèrement avoir l'occasion de vous accueillir de nouveau afin de vous faire vivre une expérience à la hauteur de cette mission.

Dated and not worth the price and unresponsive staff

1/5, the facility is very dated and not worth the price per night. The room was dated, smelled like sewage, shower was broken, offered no bathrobes in room (yet it is a spa). The front desk was not responsive and defensive. The restaurant was overall good, however the quality is inconsistent. We had a cold duck, a very dry osso bucco, and tuna with way too much sauce. The $15 per glass white wine was served warm. The restaurant had several ripped chairs. The staff were not responsive. The thermal baths were nice, however, the towels, bathrobes, and blankets were dated. They should benchmark other thermal spas as the quality for the experience is missing. The spa services were excellent. The Overall, the value was not there for the price we paid. The front desk is defensive instead of serving the customer and did not do anything for our poor meals and poor room quality. I do not recommend an overnight stay with the 3-day package. I do recommend a day in the thermal baths and spa and stay and eat somewhere else.

Disappointed customer

Very disappointed with the accommodation service and especially the presentation of our plates.Repetitive menu and lack of several choices.I had the impression that there was no chef in the kitchen.In our rooms several burnt bulbs. There is a serious lack of communication with employees. Desert morning coffee counter, coffee, a choice of herbal tea and nothing else, no water no juice, no fruit.We ran out of washcloth and at the reception there were no more.No accompaniment on the plates ,only a tuft of alfalfa .Always the same little salad lunch and evening for 3 days.I could go on but I think it's clear I do not recommend this place.

A magnificent experience

It was a magical day in a rural setting. The staff is pleasantly attentive and very professional.The food is surprising with different flavors. I recommend this property.
