Beautiful decor and design with a warm welcome

Matthieu is running a very welcoming guesthouse which is tastefully decorated and very charming. My room was beautiful with a fantastic shower.
Met very nice fellow guests over breakfast, which was nice but had some savoury/egg option missing for my liking as i am not a fan of jam.
The house is a little hidden and our Uber driver had problems finding it. I was a bit stressed to find out that they didn't accept credit cards when i checked out, as I didnt have cash - dont like to walk around with a lot of cash in Brazil and was in a hurry to leave.
However Casa da Santa is a beautiful place.

Perfect location to be outside beach scene and to live Rio like a Carioca !

This is the typical off track adress where you can really discover Rio and you can live like a Carioca
- Because Matthieu knows all tips you need for enjoying Rio
- Because the house and the rooms are really nice with a lot of charm and design quality
- Because the neighborhood is so charming that you feel you are a Carioca
- Because it is so easy to visit any Rio sightseeing from this location
Bref go there ! You won’t regret it !

Amazing experience

I stayed at Casa Da Santa for almost a week. The owner Matthieu was very helpful and kind! The room was really cosy and beautiful. Highly recommended! Well located, charming, calm. Best way to experience Rio as a local. Make sure to try his Caipi, he's a the master.

Top B&B in Rio!

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights July 2017 on our trip to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador. Matthieu’s house was an oasis, tucked away on a quiet hilly street away from the hustle and bustle of the city below. The square at the corner had families dancing and eating in the evening, a really great safe family feel. We would take the shared VW van down the hill with the locals or an Uber to explore Rio. Breakfast every morning was under the trees with tiny little monkeys, fresh fruit and juice, delicious Italian coffee and fresh jam/toast. Matthieu was an incredible host—each morning over breakfast we asked his opinion on where to go and had a great experience of Rio that way. Other travelers we met who were staying nearby stopped by to pick us up one evening and were amazed — they had thought their Airbnb was cute but realized Casa Da Santa was beyond measure with its unique architecture (designed by Matthieu himself!), airy ceilings and windows, magical garden and beautiful bathroom. His artist friends were visiting and it was truly as a dream life in Rio should be. We are a queer couple and it was nice to feel so at home! Don’t stay anywhere else, this is the place to see Rio from.

Magical house in the most artistic neighborhood

I would like to recommend this remarkable boutique hotel /b&b, name casa da santa. Me and my girlfriends stayed here 5 nights in September and enjoyed every moment of it. The place is very well located,right in the center of the artistic neighborhood of santa teresa close (walking)to nice cafes restaurants and local hang out places and about 5 minutes uber drive to the praca onze metro (15 m walk). The house itself is very specious and unique filled with art and good touch and style. The owner Matio was very nice and helpful with information and any thing we Needed, and he is preparing very nice and healthy breakfast.
Thank you so much and we defiantly come back.
