More than a stay – A real ranch adventure and an unforgettable family experience in the Pantanal

Our stay here was an unforgettable highlight of our Brazil journey – an unforgettable experience for our family of five. The ranch is cozy, clean, and surrounded by beautiful gardens, a pool, and incredible wildlife – from parrots and armadillos to capybaras. The hosts are real ranchers and some of the warmest people we’ve ever met. They welcomed us like family: we rode horses together through the ranch, went fishing, and even joined a night safari. The food was delicious, and sharing meals with the family (including an amazing barbecue) made it feel so personal. Our daughters connected deeply with the family – they almost cried when we had to leave. If you want to experience the true heart of the Pantanal, this is the place. We didn’t just find accommodation here, we found friends. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Awful

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
Awful experience start to finish. Unpleasant host, shabby shoddy accommodation with cockroaches, faulty electrics. Host put 5 of us in one room when I had booked 2 for our group. She refused to give a discount.
My worst travel experience ever.

Hello again Fiona. Sadly we had problems with this guest, she's a liar. It's our only bad review since we bought the Ranch in 2018. She asked for one room, she bring a guide with her and didn't tell us, she was out of the ranch doing activities all day, she said she wouldn't pay the agreed price because she barely stayed at the ranch.

Worst place I stayed in Brazil

Just to start by saying we had lots of really great experiences in Brazil, including in the Fazendas. However, as one of Brazil's tourism operators told us, you were deceived! We arrived at this place at night time after a long trip and a very bumpy 15 minute drive up to the house from the main road. The road in was a disgrace, full of potholes and bad even by Brazilian Fazenda standards, compared to others we visited, it was really rough. We were supposed to have two rooms. Instead, five of us were crammed into one very depressing room in what seemed like an outhouse. It even had bats flying through it. There was a shower that we could not use because the electrics were so dodgy. When my niece took a shower, the smell of burning was so strong, none of the rest of us could use it. The food was okay in fairness, if you like loads of meat, but when we complained to the owner about the room and the cost (€1000 - crazy money for what we got), she said it was our fault and that we had a guide so he got the second room. Our guide could not believe it, he said his room was awful as well. It was nothing like the pictures on the website we booked on. She continued to make it a horrible experience and texted after we left and said we needed to find god! You have been warned!!

Amazing personalised experience from the hosts at Meia Lua

Meia Lua is a very special place. The ranch is a family-owned and managed working farm. Neto is an incredible host who missed no opportunities to make our experience special. Our group of 4, two couples, spent 3 nights at Meia Lua. The pousada is lovely, with a nice pool, hammocks, and simple but comfortable rooms. The wildlife was incredible. Numerous toucans and hyacinth macaws live in the trees and are routine visitors around the house, and we saw armadillo, 2 giant ant eaters, and 3 grey foxes without ever leaving the property. The food was unbelievable. Neto's Mom and Grandma made huge quantities of local and regional food, and eating with the family made it a really personal experience. From guiding us for horseback riding, showing us the local spots in town, organising our snorkelling trip to Bonito, guiding us on walks in the jungle on the property, and building great bonfires under the stars, Neto made everything easy and personalised. He is an excellent self-taught English speaker and was also excellent at logistics, like sending us a video showing the subtle turnoff from the main road to make it easy to find. Neto also organised our day trip to the wet Pantanal and accompanied us to make things easy and also get real time feedback on the various activities. If you want a boutique experience, great Pantanal wildlife, and thoughtful service, this is your place. Cannot recommend it enough!!!

Paz y tranquilidad in the Pantanal

Though our trip was short, we loved the peace and tranquility offered by Meia Lua. The ranch is a beautiful place, with lots of fascinating wildlife, like nothing we had ever seen. Our hosts were incredibly kind and took special care to make sure we had a relaxing stay. The food was delicious, but company even better. We went on a sunset hike around the property and generally enjoyed walking around, feeding the donkey, relaxing in the pool, and getting to know our kind host family and other guests. Really comfortable and nice rooms. Neto was also helpful in setting up a safari with another nearby fazenda. We definitely recommend visiting this special place!
