A stay to cherish forever

We had the best of times at Parkhoeve and we are so glad we picked it to celebrate a very special occasion. Both Kim and Kathleen went above and beyond for us. Parkhoeve itself has absolutely everything you need for a large group and especially if your group includes children. Our children loved the pool and hot tub it was so hard to get them out! There is a little park on site and an activity trail through the local woods. The play room was brilliant too. The place made us feel at home from the start and we really felt our children were free to be children. The bar was another fab addition, the men loved pooring their own beers (pre order). Kitchen was great, our group loved the professional equipment. The spa facilities were great. The breakfast was amazing and a little different every morning (thank you Kathleen). There was airco in the rooms.
All in all a stay to cherish forerver and we would love to come back one day

Filthy kitchen and faulty wiring.

In the weekend of June 26th we were 25 people: friends, children and grandchildren at the Parkhoeve. The year before we were also here with the same group and that was good at the time, except for the kitchen which was not clean at the time and some of the equipment did not work (we then informed the landlord and he promised to do something about it). This year, the kitchen turned out not to be clean again: under the kitchen cabinets it was dirty and everything felt greasy. In addition, most of the cooling did not work and after telephone consultation with the landlord we were allowed to use their own cold room (this was brought as a favor without making excuses). The previous one is nothing compared to the following: a stainless steel kitchen worktop turned out to be powered (220 volts!!). Called the landlord immediately and he said nicely that we had to pull the plug (which plug was not clear: see photo), and again no excuses. The landlord didn't want to visit at first (it was half an hour away?!), but eventually after a long insistence we did, but then we had found the right plug. In addition, half of the wall outlets in the living room were protruding: life-threatening for small children. For next year another location booked.

Wij bieden wel degelijk onze excuses aan voor het ongemak dat je ervaren hebt met de koelkast en het feit dat je de keuken niet als schoon ervaren hebt. Mijn excuses als dat telefonisch in juni toch niet duidelijk was.
Zoals ik destijds telefonisch zei, hebben we het probleem met een koelkast die een stroomschok geeft, nog nooit voorgehad en had dit bij jullie ook niet mogen gebeuren. We hebben nadien 2 techniekers laten komen en zij hebben geen afwijking aan de koelkast gevonden. De stopcontacten zijn vervangen.
We zijn een vakantiewoning van meer dan 750m² en het kan helaas gebeuren dat soms zaken stuk gaan en één van de tientallen stopcontact in een hoekje onder de tafel uit de muur wordt getrokken. Indien dit gemeld wordt, dan lossen wij dit op. Wij hebben geen melding geregistreerd dat u bij uw verblijf vorig jaar opmerkingen had over onze keuken.
In onze vakantiewoning zijn de volgende toestellen die wel degelijk werken: een professionele combi stoomoven, 2 magnetrons, meerdere gasfornuizen, meerdere koelkasten, een automatische vaatwasser,...
Ik wil even terugkomen op de telefoongesprekken die wij hadden. U heeft mij op 26 juni meermaals gebeld ivm de code van vakantiewoning en tenten, de werking van het gasfornuis, en ook de koelkast. Iedere keer heb ik vriendelijk en onmiddellijk opgenomen om u verder te helpen. In verband met de koelkast heb ik u geadviseerd om deze uit te zetten en de kabel uit het stopcontact diende te trekken. Dan was het immers onmiddellijk veilig. Indien ik de indruk heb gegeven dat ik u niet serieus nam, dan excuseer ik mij hiervoor. Ik wilde niet 'doodleuk' overkomen. Ik bood jullie inderdaad de oplossing aan om onze koelcel te gebruiken zodat jullie zeker voldoende koelruimte hadden. U heeft mij nadien meerdere keren boos gebeld omdat u de kabel van de koelkast niet vond en meermaals boos de telefoon aan mij opgehangen. Ik heb toen gezegd dat mijn man naar u toe zou komen om jullie te helpen. Het is inderdaad een half uur rijden maar indien er een probleem is, dan komen wij altijd. Het ging in dit geval echter over het uittrekken van een kabel uit een stopcontact. U heeft mij dan nadien teruggebeld en gezegd dat het niet meer nodig was omdat jullie zelf de kabel uit het stopcontact getrokken hadden. Ik heb dan mijn man gebeld en hij heef zich teruggekeerd richting huis.
Wij vinden het jammer dat u deze situatie met de koelkast heeft meegemaakt maar we zijn er destijds telefonisch ook uitgeraakt, hebben een oplossing geboden en jullie hebben nog een fijn weekend gehad. Het is spijtig dat u nu na meer dan een maand nog een 2 sterren review geeft. Jullie verbleven een heel weekend bij ons en hadden op vrijdagavond even een incident met de koelkast, wij vinden het moeilijk om te begrijpen dat hierdoor jullie hele verblijf op ons domein van 2,5 hectare met zwembad, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam,... samengevat wordt als een plek waar je beter niet boekt. Ik sprak gisteren met de gasten die er nu zijn en zij waren net heel lovend over de grote industriële horeca keuken. Met vriendelijke groeten, Kathleen en Martin

Enjoy nature and tranquility in Parkhoeve glamping

Had a nice stay in the glamping tent. Quiet domain surrounded by nature next to a forest. Ideal for hiking. I stayed there with my wife. We slept well and the bathroom and kitchen were fine. There were even towels in the bathroom and Nespresso cups which we did not expect. It's worth repeating!

Enjoyed the silence surrounded by nature in beautiful glamping tent near a forest

Nice stay in original beautiful glamping tent!
In the glamping tent is a bathroom with sink, toilet and rain shower. In addition, there is also a kitchenette with sink, microwave, fridge with freezer and electric fire in the cupboard. The tent is neat and nicely decorated. There is also heating and air conditioning.
The fire pit was also a big plus! Ideal for roasting marshmallows.
There are 2 football goals along the tent and there is also a nice playground with trampoline for children.

Actually, I didn't want to write this review, because then I might give away the best kept secret of Belgium when it comes to Vacation Rentals;-) But they really deserve it! Last week we enjoyed this beautiful holiday home and the two glamping tents with 26 people, including 13 adults and 13 almost-teenagers.
The stay was lovely: plenty of space, a heated pool and jacuzzi, and even in rain we could sit outside thanks to the indoor facilities. Everything was clean and well cared for, with for each guest two towels, a bath mat and bathrobe. we felt really welcome. Even when we had forgotten two things after departure, they were sent quickly and without problems. Really top service!
We love to come back:-)
