A Hidden Gem of the Aegean – Agora Pansiyon

Agora Pansiyon is far more than a place to stay — it’s an experience that captures the true soul of the Aegean.
From the moment you sit under the trees surrounded by nature, you feel the calm, the sincerity, and the timeless beauty of this place.
Every plate tells a story. The olive oil dishes are light yet full of character; the yogurt with spicy red pepper is perfectly balanced; the fresh herb and white cheese meze bursts with flavor.
The grilled eel was simply outstanding — crispy outside, tender inside, seasoned to perfection, and beautifully paired with lemon.
And the final touch… the watermelon dessert — a rare and traditional delicacy, made with mastery and love. It’s not just sweet; it’s nostalgic, elegant, and memorable.
Inside, the atmosphere reflects the warmth of an old Aegean home: brick fireplace, vintage lamps, books, photos, and a corner dedicated to Atatürk — all creating a space filled with authenticity and soul.
Agora Pansiyon truly deserves its place in the Michelin Guide. It’s a celebration of good food, pure hospitality, and genuine craftsmanship.

Pension Lake Bafa . Latmos

The place near Lake Bafa is quite unusual and in its juice, right in the center of the historic site of Heraklia.. Very Good Welcoming by the family holding the pension. Good quality table even if too expensive.
The rooms are simple. We did a day with a guide in the beautiful mountain nearby. Moving discovery of Neolithic drawings and beautiful Byzantine fresco paintings. It is quite expensive (200€ for 4) but worth it.

Meraviglia

Lovely place immersed in the countryside and with a well-kept garden. We had a beer at the temple enjoying the view of the setting sun over the lake. The dinner was wonderful and the price modest. Fantastic staff. Place not touristy but authentic and beautiful. Absolutely recommended. Teşekkür ederim

A gastronomic and hotel experience worth a trip to Herakleia

Agora gave us our best culinary and hotel moment of our entire trip to Turkey (2 weeks). First of all, the site of Lake Bafa, as well as the ancient ruins dotted in an authentically agricultural landscape and not touristic at all, are of the greatest interest. At the hotel, the boss is both welcoming and perfectly English-speaking (which really helps to appreciate the cuisine). The tastefully arranged rooms are scattered in a delicious garden, in different maisonettes, with always a small terrace in front. As for the dinner prepared by the boss’ parents, it’s really an experience to do: interesting, delicious, while remaining very simple and authentic. Impossible to mention everything but a special mention for the dishes of eel of the lake. Wine proposals that are also worthwhile. What more can I ask? Nothing! As was once written in the Michelin: "Worth the trip."
