I’ll be back!

My husband and I visited rosewood Phuket in July. We cannot say enough good things about this place. From the moment we arrived at the hotel where we were greeted at the entrance by our butler Gift to our final wave off with our beautiful gifts at the end it was just wonderful. It’s in a beautiful spot, right on the beach with beautiful views across Patong Bay. Some reviews say the beach isn’t great but we thought it was so peaceful and scenic.. The three restaurants plus the bar all serve delicious food. The Thai is in a beautiful setting. It’s perhaps a little dark for us oldies but it adds to the ambience. The executive chef Luca (sorry Luca if that’s incorrect spelling) is incredibly hands on. He was omnipresent. Constantly holding short training sessions in each of the restaurants and you could hear from the staff’s reaction that they loved him and the sessions always sounded fun if you happened to be near a venue.
He was so friendly and kind and incredibly knowledgeable. It’s really great to chat with him if you get the chance. I told him about my fear of flying shortly before we were due to leave and he sent me on my way with a powdered mushroom tea. All legal, it’s on the breakfast menu! And my gosh it really worked. Thank you Luca! You were a saviour .
Now to everyone else who works there. I’m loath to mention names because I can genuinely say that every single member of staff were just unbelievably kind and friendly. Obviously we have to mention Gift and Gig our butlers. They went above and beyond. A quick WhatsApp and our every request was met. Want a buggy? Need a restaurant? Want a taxi? A tailor? Room service ? Literally anything was a text away. We cannot thank them enough. The bar staff were such fun and 9 must be about 50 now?. But again it was literally everyone. The smiley barman (thun?), our friend in the beach restaurant. And the bell man whose life’s ambition is to find out why the road runner couldn’t just fly away. Beep beep! Oh the fun we had! The breakfast was delicious, freshly prepared and about everything you could possibly want. Be healthy or bold. Up to you.
Finally! We are totally spoiled now. We could never stay anywhere else. So we will definitely be back. If you’re torn between hotels save yourself the headache and book rosewood. To every single member of staff. Thank you for making our special holiday so special.

Phuket is still a good place to be!

It took me some time, but I finally had to sit down and compliment this incredible trip!
Exceptional stay at Rosewood Phuket. Andrea, the GM, went above and beyond to make everything perfect for us thank you also for the wonderful Madrid stay
Lucas, the Italian chef, delivered outstanding food quality throughout our stay; every meal was a highlight. Nutcha, our butler, was attentive and thoughtful from start to finish.
The kids club was fantastic, keeping the little ones entertained and happy the whole time including a series of baking activities that kept them busy during the rain.
To top it off, our stay coincided with the Champions League final, and as a PSG fan, the team made it unforgettable popcorn, a special two-star pancake (in honor of the second title), and a screening we won’t forget. See the photos below!
A truly memorable stay thank you to the whole team.

The hotel was super nice. Our butler (Tokyo) was super helpful. Everything was perfect. The Thai restaurant was also a highlight during our stay.

Amazing stay

Fantastic hotel and staff. Rooms nicely decorated. Breakfast was exceptional as are all the dinner options.
Staff went above and beyond to enhance our stay.
Would return in a heartbeat.

Lovely Stay at Rosewood Phuket

An amazing stay at the Rosewood hotel Phuket. We were 3 adults well looked after by our amazing butler Nan. Staying in the ocean view pool villa (separate kitchen/living area) upon check in and then our room was upgraded for our last 2 nights for a 2 bed pool villa. An amazing treat for my mothers birthday surprise.
There were a few inconsistencies in service which were quickly dealt with. The beach area (although public) is clean and welcoming although there are a lot of rocks and pebbles in the sea so you may need swim shoes.
The breakfast service was top notch. A good selection from the a la carte menu along with various types of breads, smoothies and fruits on offer. Service always welcoming, polite and warm.
The Thai restaurant is good - just be sure that when you say medium spicy you mean mild otherwise it will blow your head off.
The pool area is serviced by a trendy bar and a food shack station. As you can see from its web pics, the pools kind of all blend as one with some areas for kids and others where you can swim properly. Not personally to my taste (i prefer separate pools for proper swimming - adults only - and separate from those where the kids can go and play).
A few wear and tear issues in the room (wobbly lamps/tears in drapes and brick work surrounding the villa pool) which i'd say needs attention but overall it was pretty faultless.
Excellent buggy service around the property although walking around was pretty ok.
This is Thai hospitality at its very best. A lesson that both european and north american 5 star hotels could learn from.
On a personal note, the one thing that is appreciated but never expected is the tipping. Most hotels include a hefty service charge fee on-top of your room rate which may be annoying to some but i think having a few notes spare for housekeeping/room service and buggy/luggage/pool service doesnt go amiss.
Would definitely go again and a special thanks to Tommy for his help during our stay and also for his connection for our next trip to Koh Samui...
We moved on from Phuket to Koh Samui staying at the Vana Belle Resort (review under Vana Belle to follow).
