The best place in Chishang

The place is amazing in the middle of rice fields. It is super clean, breakfast is great and everything is so nice. The owner is very nice and helpful even his English is broken. It is super quiet and the room is five stars and you have there all you need. Super modern and the view is great. Highly recommended.

Super tranquil place

The Life 21 House is a little gem stone in the middle of the rice patties in Chihshang. Nothing can beat the tranquility and calmness of the surroundings. The staff already has adapted this tranquility. Some of the ladies speak almost no English, so communication might be a bit difficult.
I stayed in room 1973, which is spacious with actually a huge bathroom. Bed is comfy and AC works well.
Breakfast is good and also the other food they are cooking is tasty.
I suggest this place for a few relaxing days.

We wished we could move here

The setting could not be any more dreamy. It was in the middle of rice fields and within walking/biking distance to Mr. Brown's Ave. The room and the shower were very clean and cute (would have been better without the scented air freshener though). The cafe had a wonderful view both on the roof and inside through the glass windows. We LOVED having the cats around. We were mostly just passing through on our way from Hualien to Kenting, but this place was so quaint and our morning bike ride so lovely, it totally made our overnight stop worth it. I almost don't want too many people to discover this place because I hope it will never get over-developed around here. But I do hope their business will do well.

Need improvement in service & maintenance

Its location is very good & convenient as close to Brown's Avenue. But their service and maintenance still need improvement . Their price is quite expensive but seems not worthy of their service . Also the quality of their breakfast and coffee need enhancement.

Highly recommended, with few minor improvement opportunities.

Good atmosphere in an old but reformed farmer house, cozy lights, simple decorations and delicious food. The female host is very nice and willing to help and answer questions.
Highlights: the pre-ordered dinner was very delicious (except the rice that day tasted a little dry), especially the brownie and handmade cookies, black tea smells really good; the breakfast is also great; the room is comfortable, extremely quite at night (except sounds of winds... If you want to be picky); location is great as well because it's very close to the famous Takeshi Kaneshiro tree and magnificent Brown Avenue, easily to access before getting crowded.
Improvement opportunities:
(1) water temp was not stable so a little difficult for me to shower my toddler in winter night. This was complained by another Facebook reviewer and seems it hadn't been taken care.
(2) there are many cats around, it looks like they frequently get into the rooms and restaurant and sleep on the table in restaurant or the rocker outside the room (from picture it looks clean but actually the seat of rocker is dirty). If you are cat-phobia don't try this B&B.
(3) the host may being edgy to expand the business by hosting a 2nd hostel, and cannot finish the work at this one, left the tools in the little pavilion. From other bloggers' records, those tool have been there for a long time.
(4) the bike is not free, 100 TWD/ day.
Overall I still highly recommend this B&B, and would take a second visit if travel to Chihshang again.
