All right.

Nice staff at the front desk.Not the best breakfast, but neat enough. Nice and clean, we will be back on a later occasion

Varmt hotell som ligger bra till i Örebro och funkar för familjen.

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of days because we wanted to try a different Scandic than the one we usually stay at when visiting Örebro (Scandic Central).
Overall, we were satisfied. The location worked well for what we had planned, although we mostly got around by car. There are a few restaurants nearby, but many of them close at 9:00 PM, so it can be a bit tricky if you're looking for dinner later in the evening. Of course, the hotel also has its own restaurant.
The first challenge came when we arrived at the underground parking garage. This isn't unique to this hotel, but it's becoming far too common. The parking spaces are extremely narrow, so if you arrive late and only a few spots are left, it can be very difficult to fit your car. We don't even drive a large SUV—just a regular station wagon. We seriously considered parking somewhere else and writing off the SEK 250 per day parking fee, but after quite a bit of maneuvering, we managed to squeeze the car in.
The hotel itself is a fairly standard Scandic—nothing particularly special, but perfectly functional. When we entered the room, we were happy to see a portable fan, since hotel rooms often get quite warm in our experience. We also noticed that a large wall-mounted fan had been installed, which immediately made us realize that overheating must be a known issue. That turned out to be the case. We were able to cool the room down somewhat with the fans and by opening the window, but the fans were too noisy to sleep comfortably, and leaving the window open made the room very bright unless we closed the curtains—which, of course, reduced the airflow. So getting a good night's sleep wasn't easy.
We also had a bit of bad luck on our last day when both the shower and the sink became clogged. It seemed like we weren't the only guests affected. These things happen, but they're always inconvenient.
Other than that, the hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was very good. :-)
If you're arriving by train, especially in winter, this hotel is probably a good choice—although Scandic Central is even closer to the train station.

Disappointed when I had higher expectations for scandic and considering what we pay. Bad pillows that felt like the cheapest Ikea pillow and no possibility to change to another model. No fridge in the room because it is apparently not standard in Sweden. Stained towel on arrival, dead fly stuck between the windows, the windows didn’t look like they had been cleaned for a while and a sticky soap dispenser by the sink is our experience of Grand Scandic Örebro. Boring.

Hot room pulls down the rating

The room (and corridor) was very warm. You could not set the temperature and even if the radiator was not on it was really hot. Probably no AC. We showered cold, had an open window and fan running but still very hot, even though it was not so hot outside. Otherwise very good. Good breakfast, clean, nice, luxurious, good service and location.

Very good hotel and nice staff. Have stayed at this hotel many times. Can really recommend other guests
