You have to come here for the chicken cordon blue.
Since we have been visiting Hikkaduwa for many years, we now know where to find the gems of the food, including Blue Note for the Chicken Cordon Bleu. Good bite of the chicken and the right ratio of chicken and cheese, it's a pity that this time the crispy outside was missing, which was a minus for us, but the rest with salad served separately in a bowl with delicious dressing and fries made the meal a success again. Price with 2 bottles of beer around 7500 rupee.

Poor service and cleaning
You want to talk about a place but I can't do that about this place
We didn't get cleaned in three days when we have here, we were here three days no new towels or bed linen changed.
Ac leaked water from the first day it was also not fixed during the whole trip.
It leaked about 10 liters per day we told but got buckets only set under ac
I ordered a cucumber salad at the restaurant. I got half a cucumber and two slices of tomatoes no lettuce in my eyes.
The location is amazing you step directly down on the beach, the pool is not much to cheer for it is mostly for show.
No no hotel I recommend for the price we got to give
But right in the center and you step on directly on the beach

It was very convenient access to the hotel and looks great and fresh just after the renovation of entire hotel.

More a guest house than a hotel.
We were a bit disappointed with our stay here. The location is great, rooms are bright and spacious, the owners and staff are super nice and helpful, and the soundproofing in the rooms is effective. HOWEVER, the services and infrastructure are more in line with those expected of a small, family run guest house. We had to switch from our original room because the air conditioning wasn’t working right so the room was hot and musty, and the locking mechanism on the doors was faulty — the replacement room was smaller and had a limited ocean view, but it was okay. Wifi is unreliable, which makes a working vacation impossible since phone signal is also poor in the upstairs rooms. Food is decent, but bland and quite basic. It seems like a little investment in infrastructure would make a huge improvement. So, a pleasant enough stay, but it seems overpriced for what you get.

Attacked by dog at this hotel!
At first we liked the Blue Note as the previous hotel we had stayed in at Hikkaduwa had cockroaches in the bathroom. The room we stayed in on the ground floor looked nice but was not strictly the sea view we had booked. When we opened the doors, we could see the sea, but the restaurant and gusts were in the way of it.
On the second night we had cockroaches in our room which upset my wife as she has a phobia of them. The TV did not work at all, and when I asked a member of staff I was told that none of the TVs in the hotel were working. Not what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel.
On the day we were leaving I went to pay my bill when I noticed that I had been overcharged for my stay,which had to question as it was not what was confirmed when I made the booking with Booking.com.
Then when I was walking through the lobby to phone for a taxi, I heard a dog barking aggressively to my right. I jumped as I was not expecting it and with that, the owners dog ran towards me in an aggressive manner. I turned to get away from it and it jumped and bit me on my back. Someone then grabbed the dog and I stood there in a state of shock. I went back to my room for my wife to check if I needed medical attention, but luckily the skin wasn't broken. However after a few days a nasty bruise developed (the pic shows this). I went to complain to a member of staff but she just said that it was nothing and there was no apology. I was stunned by this response and told her that it was completely unacceptable for dogs to attack guests. She just stood there and said nothing.
If this was the UK I would be employing a solicitor to recover damages - do not stay at this hotel, they do not care about the welfare of their guests!
