Dream goal

Great house with very nice staff. Food for Europeans totally good.
Beach and sea unforgettable.
Just outside which means more TukTuk time or taxi. The local transport is great and inexpensive, takes 10min to the stop - as an alternative.
The hotel manager made suggestions and organized everything - fair!

Good Karma - highly recommended!

Good Karma is a beautiful beachfront hotel! The rooms are clean, as is the pool. It is surrounded by coconut trees, occasionally monkeys come to visit. A kilometre away, sea turtles lay their eggs in the evening and you can watch the youngsters hatch and then migrate into the ocean. In the morning you can help the friendly fishermen catch up with the net!!!!!......a unique experience! It's incredibly quiet! ....the waves all the wilder! Ayurvedic massages are also particularly recommended! There are true professionals at work! The staff takes care of any kind of “work”! The facility is very well maintained! Unfortunately, we now have to leave the place.....

Feels like (a forever) home to us

From the moment we arrived, everything was just perfect. Check in was umcomplicated, the whole staff is more than friendly, very attentive and offer help and/or advice if needed.
They also organised our trips, and we espescially enjoyed our first ever tuktuk ride to Tangalle.
We had a little medical situation and were offered ayurvedic medicine and treatments for our well being immediately.
Food is deliscious and freshly prepared, and friendly to European stomaches.
Since we loved this place so much, we decided to prolongue our stay for some more days.
One little downside, when staying there in September: the ocean is quite rough, and for us the waves were to high for swimming. So we used the pool to refresh, and went on the beach to chill.

Dream Hotel at Dream Beach

We stayed at Good Karma for a full two weeks and had an absolutely great time. From the very first moment, it was like a little piece of paradise. The hotel itself is relatively small, which makes it feel very private and personal. We stayed in a villa with our own pool, which was simply perfect and allowed us to fully relax and enjoy the surroundings at our own pace. We also made plenty use of the spa, means professional and very good massages at very good prices.
But the other appartments are great as well and more or less directly located at the beach. Anyway, one of the unique highlight is the private beach. Not only is the hotel’s beach beautiful, but the entire stretch of coastline is one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches we have ever seen. It truly looks like something out of a picture book, untouched, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing.
The staff deserves special mention. They are top class, incredibly friendly, and always helpful. No matter what we needed or wished for, they were always there with a smile and genuine care. Special thanks here again to Akila and Supun who we hat the most contact with, but everyone would deserve to be mentioned!
The restaurant offers excellent local cuisine. If you enjoy fish, this is definitely the place for you, as the seafood is fresh and delicious.
The hotel is very quiet and slightly removed from any hustle and bustle, which was exactly what we were looking for. At the same time, if you want to explore, you can easily do day trips or take a short tuk-tuk ride to the nearest larger town, Tangalle.
Overall, Good Karma Hotel was the perfect place for a relaxing, unforgettable stay, and we would (will) return anytime. Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, beauty, and outstanding hospitality.

Not coming again

My girlfriend and I spent five nights in this hotel. The rooms were nice and clean, but the water is cold when you have to take a shower. The hotel overlooks the water and the beach is almost private. They offer yoga every morning, which was a fantastic experience. The food was really not good, neither the breakfast nor the lunch. For example, we had to pay extra if you want to change your breakfast or add something, even if it was included in the price. We found that the staff at the restaurant was not always very welcoming and had a flat energy/attitude. We received a very strange welcome when we arrived at the hotel, but in return we were sent nice when we were going home. One should be aware that the hotel is very isolated and there is not much nearby.
