Big quirky room with a four poster bed and good sized bathroom. Armchairs positioned for watching the big TV and a desk and chest of drawers containing an iron and hair dryer. A little surprised there wasn't a wardrobe but there were places you could hang stuff up. Lovely staff who were friendly and efficient. Food is delicious and the breakfast included the biggest omelettes I've ever seen!
The only downsides were rather low pressure in the shower, though this could have been us not having used an electric shower for ages, and I found the mattress a bit soft but my wife loved it and was out like a light.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and it's a good base for exploring the area like Frome.

Room was lovely. Bed comfy. Reception staff welcoming. The male staff member serving breakfast not so.

My 2nd stay at the George and a really lovely one too. Room 8 is so far my favourite. Great dinner in the restaurant with a nice pint of Hawkstone! Staff are great and really helpful. WiFi works, but internet a little slow. Then again, not in the centre of London so better than expected. TV only really shows BBC1 without pixelation. Didn't bother me as I used my tablet. Bed comfy and plenty of coffee / tea. Bathroom is spacious enough. Large shower. Pressure a bit weak but good enough. Fantastic breakfast. Will be staying again!

Excellent Sunday Lunch!

Fabulous Sunday lunch here at The George!
It was a filthy day weather wise & we were fortunate enough to get a table for Sunday lunch.
The service from the staff was excellent & very friendly waitresses ensured that we were well looked after.
The roast dinners were delicious and amongst the very best that we have come across.
We enjoyed it very much and will no doubt return again very soon.
