We had a really enjoyable stay at Celtic Manor. I slept incredibly well, the spa was excellent, and breakfast was a real highlight — very good quality with a fantastic choice. A £7 for a bowl of chips, expectations are naturally rather high. Sadly, these were more limp than luxurious — lacking the crispness and heat the price rather suggested.
The bedroom itself was comfortable and nicely presented, although I do think the hotel needs to keep an eye on the rooms as they age. For a hotel of this standard, small signs of wear can quickly detract from the overall experience if they are not kept on top of.
Overall, though, we had a lovely stay. The spa, a great night's sleep and an excellent breakfast were definite highlights.

After several years of one out of three lifts being broken, just two small lifts available for the hundreds of people trying to use them .No robes in bedroom to wear to spa/pool, not important but part of the package. Car parking space limited due to a 900 guest wedding so the other guests struggled. No access to the old Manor House to drop off. No buffet evening meal at the olive tree , no breakfast available in the old Manor House. Sent from one bar that was open stated it was closed went to the next bar was served there returned to find the other bar serving. Manor House is just a bedroom annex mostly lots of walking back and forth to get to the restaurants with lifts not working.the breakfast in the olive tree was like a cattle market , the main hostess here was lovely and trying really hard to support the customers with the problems caused by far to many people milling around and children touching food. . Didn’t get to swim as too many people on the Monday to get slots so left to come home. Positively some lovely staff , company policy nobody says sorry or apologise just make excuses. The concierges are fab and very helpful. The scenery is beautiful , the place is immaculate, a lovely place to visit just poor communication and stressed staff which is not their fault. Not a bad visit but not as good as previously. Thank you for the teddy bear left in the room for my grandaughter . I look forward to improvement for our next visit.

My second stay at Celtic Manor (Manor House). We booked a second time (after about two years) because the cooked breakfast was the best I remember having. Unfortunately, the manor house breakfasts are now served in the main hotel and are buffet breakfast instead of cooked to order. While it is still ok, it is nothing compared to what it used to be.
I found the room to be a bit tired, with frayed carpet, busted hinge on a cupboard door etc, but very clean. It is easy to get lost in the hotel, but it is kinda fun to explore - even if it feels like a big empty hotel in North Korea at times. Staff are mostly very helpful, but there were a few instances where I felt a member of staff couldn't be bothered - but not a big enough deal to go into any detail.
Swimming pool is very nice, and the amenities are great. Hotel does get very busy, but it's worth a stay. Oh, £13.50 for overnight parking is quite steep - particularly as it's pay on exit, so if you nip out for any reason you have to pay afresh when you get back rather than parking on the existing ticket, so if you nip out a few times in a day it could get expensive.
