You have to try this hotel!

An absolutely fantastic hotel experience. We will visit the hotel again! Plan to stay over again in the summer. Having stayed at the Malmaison in Dundee in February, I was quite shocked at the Northern Hotel having a better room in terms of size and cleanliness and better customer service standards than Mal and for half the price. You MUST try the curry buffet night! This can be booked just as a meal if you are not staying overnight.

Whole hotel is very dated and run down so not value for price paid . Massive stains on the carpet. Bathroom radiator not attached to the wall. Breakfast too pricey. Only positive is the shower was clean and powerful.

A disappointing stay at the Northern Hotel. Room 111 had a strange smell when we opened the door. There was only a small window so the room was very dark. Bed was awful as you could feel the springs of the mattress and the pillow (only one each) was very flat so we didn’t have a good sleep. There were cobwebs on the walls and wallpaper was coming off the wall near the window. Toilet seat was loose.
On the plus side the staff were pleasant and the evening meal was good. Maybe we were just unlucky and other rooms were okay.

The Northern is a lovely hotel, rooms clean, plenty of storage, toiletries, kettle & TV. We had dinner one night of our 2 night stay, food was delicious. We had breakfast one morning, I had full vegetarian breakfast, my friend full Scottish, both delicious & filling!

I won’t stay again an essential overnight stay however not like the photos
