Very homely

This pub is spotless, fairly basic but with everything you need for an overnight stay with good home cooked food. A lively location only a few minutes from Alton Towers.
Best of all is Margaret and her team who are so friendly it feels like staying with family.
We will definately stay here again when on another visit to the Towers

I would come back but don’t know when… and would love to see Margaret again.

Met a lovely lady called Margaret and she welcomed us even we arrived so early and show us the rooms and the menu. Told me little bit about the pub history. We had a meal in their restaurant and played round of pool. The fire was lovely. And also the breakfast and dinner was lovely… and the room we slept was comfy but maybe wifi would be bonus as signals is not quite good.

Uncomfortable beds

Beds not the most comfy also trying to get hot water was a trial . We worked out that if you let the toilet cistern fill up then turn on shower I the water would come out quicker but hot water was intermittent. Shame bar didn’t open until 7pm and hardly any beer . Breakfast okay but bacon to thick and tough . Cereal bland . Staff lovely . Would not stay again . Basic and quite expensive

Family get together for 60th birthday

From the rooms to the owner Margaret to all the staff it was a fantastic stay nothing was to much trouble deffo recommend to stay here and we deffo will be going back - 12 of us including baby were booked in 2 rooms in hotel and 2 family chalets outside everything was spot on for us clean rooms fab breakfast good choice if evening meals.

Fabulous home from home.

My son and I were looking for a 2 night bolt hole for our annual trip to Alton Towers. Our previous accommodation was not available, and I stumbled across this little gem!
Margaret, the owner, ensured our stay was comfortable and even gave us the fan from the kitchen on the hottest night of the year. Great value for money and would recommend to anyone who is looking for some home comforts.
