Small and Clean,

This is a small hotel but very clean, we got a nice room with private bath, breakfast is not so good but we left at 4:30 am. so that doesnt matter, the staff right here are very polite and helpfull, I recommend it.

Disappointing

Very disappointing place, positives: location in relation to bus ticket office. Room was clean but had odd smell. Negatives: reception area smells bad. It also serves as breakfast area. We noticed that toilet cistern was not filling so I went to the reception. After some discussion in Spanish among the 4 people at the table, the receptionist went upstairs with me, only to discover that the bathroom door once closed (latched) cannot be opened from the outside, very weird. After a while somebody came with a key that did the job (but it was not fitting the lock on the bathroom). Back to the water issue - toilet cistern was not filling because the water was turned off. It was turned off because when it was on, the water was constantly running in the toilet and also tap was dripping. Obviously they knew about it but did not fix it. Breakfast was very poor. Fluffy buns, margarine, runny jam and scrambled eggs. They blank refused to make my husband fried eggs instead of scrambled. The only place where this happened. Can't recommend this place to anyone, not good value, unpleasant atmosphere.

My congratulations to the reception

The receptionist's attention was always the best, very friendly, charismatic and attentive to the needs; she even gave me some recommendations for the site museum and orchidary. The location is good, close to the train station, however that makes it a bit noisy, not serious if you are tired. The water in the shower is super hot, the body appreciates it. Breakfast is sufficient and prepared at the moment

Do not book if you have the choice

- Noisy
- Open electricity sockets
- Mould on ceiling and bathroom walls
- broken shower head
- non-English speaking (partly unfriendly) staff
+ hot water
+ ok bed
This was booked for us through an agency, but we would never recommend to stay here. Hostel the rest stayed at was cleaner and cheaper. Better places in Aguas Calientes for a better price than this one. Our room (matrimonial, 44/404).

Very good for what it is -- inexpensive

The hotel handled the basics and was very good for the price. It was clean, beds comfortable, water warm, simple breakfast served very early, and we safely left a small bag and picked it up later afternoon before catching the train. All for $43. It served our needs -- a clean place to stay before heading out early for Machu Picchu. If you expect too much - large room, big breakfast buffet, etc. you will likely be disappointed.

Hotel Encanto is small and friendly. Personal always give a better smile and try to offer the best service possible. Is close to Train station.
