Lovely experience

We had a great stay at Casa Samay. Carlos was very caring and welcoming, and our room was comfortable and clean. Very chill and relaxing, especially after having done a 4 day hike. Not too far from the city center, just a short walk. Amazing view of the mountains and night sky.

Magical, restful refuge

You should stay here. This is the perfect place to stay for a visit of any length: if you only have one night in Ollantaytambo amidst a fast-paced trip between Cusco and Machu Picchu—you'll catch really comfy cozy restorative rest. OR if you have several days in Ollantaytambo, this is a really laid back peaceful place to stay, hang out, and meet other travelers. Carlos is profoundly kind and helpful and deeply knowledgable. He'll help you have the best and most enriching time in Ollantaytambo. The short 10 minute walk to the town center is easy and convenient. There are also always taxis/motos between the hostel and the center. The beds were comfy, all the facilities were super clean and safe, the view was spectacular, and our private room was affordable. 10/10!!

Highly recommended

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel. It's a short 10 minute walk out of town, and it has brilliant views of the mountains and stars at night. I felt so well looked after by Carlos and his family. The only thing missing is breakfast and/or a shared kitchen.

Quiet and magical stay

A quiet and cozy place.
Beautiful rooms and views.
Friendly and personal attention.
The only thing to improve is that there is no breakfast service but it is in the pipeline thanks to everything that Carlos brings to the house.

Not a good way to treat customers

Unfortunately the room we booked for 5 people was not available once we came there so they said one off us had to sleep alone with someone else. This was not a nice way to start. We had to complain in order to change.
The day after my girlfriend got sick and stayed 2 hours after check out. I had understood that this was okay since she was bad otherwise we would have leaves the room. They made us charge the double amount for the whole room just for two people staying there 2 hours. The hostel was empty so no one really needed that room.
I understand that there is an need to pay when you stay after check out. But with a misunderstanding, a sick girlfriend and an almost empty hotel we should not have payed that much.
I recommend you come here if you want something cheap but make sure to not get swindled and get what you booked for!
