The Social Hub - Amesterdam
The hotel is very well located, with the metro just a few minutes away and plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby, which made everything very convenient.
The room was comfortable and had a modern, stylish decoration.
Breakfast was also a highlight, with a good variety of options, including healthy choices.
One of the best parts of the stay was the free coworking space free for guests - a really pleasant environment with excellent facilities, perfect for working.
Highly recommended!

It was an a very good accommodation. Everything was included like gym, a local restaurant, room facilities with helpful staff providing information and assistance whenever needed.

Good spacious clean room, but some design flaws: mirror and sink are squeezed in a corner of the bathroom which makes it difficult to look straight into the mirror unless you place your body against the wall. Sink is very small with very little space to place your toiletries. Lighting in bathroom is very bad for doing make-up. TV needs to be re-started often to get reception, does not seem to get the signal otherwise.

Was promising with glossy ad pictures but the real life experience was underwhelming and overpriced for a poor product.
There are 2 Social Hub locations in Amsterdam. When we first arrived we mistakenly went to the City location which is much better positioned to go straight to the City Center on the main tram line. Social Hub West is a 15 to 20 min tram ride to the sites located in the city center. It will often take transferring trams to get where you want to go. The grocery store is a 15min walk and the one next door to the building is limited with selection. Mainly catering to students with pasta, energy drinks, and ramen but lacking in protein or vegetables etc. The room I got is an actual repurposed dorm and still feels and looks like a fraternity or college dorm. My 1st room smelled like a wet gym sock no matter what I did to air it out and I was told that despite paying 1,000 USD for 7 nights, the co-working amenities were not included, the bike rental was a fee, and there was no shared kitchen services (They don't exist.) The room didn't even come with a coffee maker. It had a hot kettle with 2 bags of drip coffee grounds to use but no coffee mugs. The safe was non functional and one of the lights was out when I checked into the room. The lobby of my building was trashed with food crumbs on the carpet and trash left lying around. There appeared to be families with about 10 kids roaming the hall without adult supervision. Erin the manager and Elise were very helpful getting the issues resolved quickly when I raised them which was a plus because I had an unpleasant interaction with a member of the desk staff the night before when they basically said I was just a "hotel guest" and co-working was not included with my fee. Erin did upgrade me to an executive or deluxe room which basically comes with the espresso maker and the kitchenette. That plus the bathtub and co-work access ultimately resolved my issues. For that I give them props for making the matter right. They also state they will correct messaging on Airbnb to better reflect the 2 different locations, tiered access policies, and micro charges so that a visitor like me doesn't show up confused again. That said, as a traveling nomad I'm the prime demographic they advertise to and I felt that the prices were far to steep to consider staying at Social Hub for any real length of time and I was only willing to book the week with the understanding that it included the amenities listed above. In general I philosophically take issue with the micro-charging for co-working access, the manipulative approach to limiting amenities etc. for short term "hotel" stays Vs. Extended (min 2wk stays) and the high price charged for the rooms to start with. I felt like they use glossy pictures with "Bait and switch" language to imply you will receive a different kind of product than what is offered. The coffee shop on site provides basic food but it looks a tad over priced for quality so I didn't purchase anything. The laundry is a great automated machine run through the app where you can reserve your machine and see how much time is left. But you will only be able to use 1 machine at a time so you can't do your 2 loads at once and get it over with.
