The hotel is great. It's in a perfect location for exploring the Old Town and is very walkable. The only problem is the check-in because Hotels.com is supposed to send you a code to check in, and both times we stayed here they did not, so check-in took a while. There seems to be a disconnect between the Hotels.com process and the local process.

The delusions of 5*

Good location in the old city, close to myriad of souvenir shops, restaurants and points of cultural interest such as the Canal museum. The room was well appointed.
Getting into 5 star category - as this hotel claims to be - is not anymore about whether the bed was comfy or the room clean. It is about the right attitude displayed at every step and interaction with your paying guest. And this hotel failed in a manner I have not encountered in 50 years of travel. The most obnoxious receptionist will be on his chair as you enter the building. He denied the obvious absence of hot water in the room, didn't turn up for a scheduled meeting to progress the absence of water, would not provide the manager's contact detail until asked for 3 times...
The room has windows which can only be used if you are a dwarf, 2 years old or you lie flat on your tummy - see photo. And the 'city view' is not existing. The booking description notes that 'there may be stairs' to access the room. Now, there are stairs and there are 'stairs'. What you'll be facing is a narrow spiral staircase to get to your room, while also hauling your luggage. In the room there was only one small bottle of water, not two. The coffee pods were not replaced after the first day.
All in all, I am sure you will find 5* room and 5* attitude in Panama City, but not at the Bardot.

Absolutely wonderful in every way!! Such a peaceful and relaxing spot to light after flying all day. Quaint old town with boutique shops and rooftop dining. A MUST DO!!!

This is such a charming place to stay. The rooms are so unique, yet so inviting. The location is superb for visiting the Casco Viejo area. The view is fantastic. We loved enjoying our complimentary bottle of wine on the deck outside our room. I can't wait to stay here again!!

Beautiful room, French food at the restaurant was amaaaazing. Even had a violin player one night. Staff were super helpful. The rooftop wasn’t used much but you could tell the staff kept eyes on it. Perfect location for everything in Casco.
