A little oasis in the middle of the forest :-)
Very friendly and helpful personnel. Incredible location for hikes and forest exploration… but you do need a car or a big wallet for the local Norwegian priced taxis :)
Nice restaurant and particularly attentive bar stuff.
The swimming pool and sauna - were the absolute highlight of our stay! Beware, additional £20 per person per daily use.
One issue we have faced was the boiler wasn’t heating up properly and we barely managed to fill even one bath with decent temperature water. Apparently it’s not so for the regular hotel rooms :)
And no shelves or any storage whatsoever.
And again - the hotel worked around the water issue and we were looked after and ended up having hot showers etc.
We loved the stay and hope to come back again!
Thank you Wood Hotel Bodø ❤️✨

Clean windows and clean wine glasses in the room would have made our stay perfect.

A wonderful hotel with a relaxing spa-like atmosphere.

The hotel is great as a venue and the spa is nice enough.
However, for those considering eating at the restaurant and having the audacity to book on the *day* of arrival, please think again. The restaurant staff - specifically the female maître d', is incredibly unwelcoming, arrogant and rude, and if you are a foreigner then expect to be deliberately ignored.
After being seated in the worst seats in the restaurant, we literally waited 15 minutes at the table without so much as our drinks order being taken, with serval other guests arriving well after us and being served quite literally within seconds by the same person. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. For the first time in my life my partner and I ended up walking out of a restaurant and logging a complaint at the reception.
I’m afraid the restaurant is drunk on their own sense of self importance, probably suffering from ‘big restaurant in a small town’ syndrome, and as it is the only place to eat in a remote hotel most tourists probably put up with it. Fortunately, we had our own transport so drove into town for much better service and a warm, characteristically friendly Norwegian welcome.
To the maître d' working last night, I’m afraid you are in the wrong job and shouldn’t be working with people.
