Amazing the best ever
As a returning guest of luxury akumal bahia reading some negative reviews really worried me. But that all change as soon as we arrived the lovely Francesco upgrade our room free of charge to the new villas 2 rooms one big family room so it was already to a great start room clean towels change daily. The food at the buffe change daily was amazing fresh every day they had oyster for lunch come on hahahaha kids loved the selection we did go few time tipikado think how u say it snack bar was a hit with the kids we went to restaurant my favourite was mikado and katok,tequila least favourite the gourmet purely took 3 hours between courses slow service. The entertainment where truly something else here Milton,Alex,Karla, Maria thank you so much for making our trip the best ever truly amazing . My best bar staff Wendy Always made sure I had my drink refreshed hahah as a family of 5 staying 14 nights we thought we would get bored the days went so fast we were sad to leave i would be returning back 100% even with the changes but that did not seem to bother me yes I could definitely see the change. If is your 1 time you would love it

Amazing anniversary holiday
This was our 4th visit, the last being in 2018 for a wedding which was amazing. We booked this trip for our 20th anniversary, booked a swim up room which was amazing, used room service some days which was great and used the snack bar several times. All great but during our stay the main buffet was closed at night which wasn’t brilliant but I managed to book plenty of à la cartes which were all good especially Katok steak house, steaks were beautiful!
This May was the quietest I’ve ever seen this resort since our last trips in 2015, 2016 & 2018, not sure if this is just a sign of the times or if it was due to renovations.
When the buffet reopened it was only half open but it was ok, we didn’t starve!
I’ve always loved the wildlife here and there was still plenty :-) the weather was amazing but it’s a shame to see our favourite part of the beach was unusable due to all the seaweed. The main beach was perfect tho and we stayed by the swing bar most days.
We will return in a few years, maybe in high season when all facilities are hopefully available. Coming from the UK it’s a lot of money and we would have preferred the buffet being fully open and not being tied to à la carte bookings. We will definitely have a swim up again but will be keeping a close eye on reviews to see if any more changes are made that could put us off spending so much money for a lot less Akumal perks

EXCELLENT RESORT
The best hotel (value for money) in the Riviera Maya,
-excellent staff attention
In particular from Francisco at the front desk
-very good quality and variety of food
Gianmarco supported us a lot with all the food and beverage, which are really excellent
-very good entertainment
-excellent Dolce Vita restaurant - the Kuuk - the Indian, the Rodizio, the Tequila, but really all the specialty restaurants are excellent.
I recommend this hotel to anyone who has children because of the kids club that does a very good job and the beach that is always clean with crystal clear water.

Fantastic Stay at Bahía Príncipe
Fantastic 2 week holiday with a large group of family and friends, at Bahía Príncipe Explore Akumal and it’s somewhere we would definitely return to.
The rooms were modern and recently renovated and cleaned every day and left absolutely spotless.
Plenty to do thanks to the great entertainment team (Ramon and Ritchie were standouts). Something for everyone from the lively first pool, quieter second and adults only infinity pool.
Food in all à la carte restaurants was absolutely spot on (portion sizes are slightly small but in the Italian we could order starters, pasta, pizza and dessert)
The buffet is great with lots of choice, breakfast was a particular favourite from our group (the lady on the omelette station is a star).
Beers on draft and mixers go flat very quick but we found this to be a wider thing across Mexico and cans/bottles avoid this. (Or cocktails!)
For the à la carte restaurants all I would say is 10 days prior to arrival make sure that you book them all in as it can be very difficult to book whilst here.
Waiters, bar staff, cleaners and the entertainment team genuinely can’t do enough for you!
Renovation work has 0 impact on the stay as it’s at a section away from everything else on the resort. You can only see the work from the infinity pool but there is no noise.
The gym has also recently been renovated, although not a full spec gym it’s a level above other smaller hotel gyms. (Treadmills, rowers, barbells, incline press, lat pull down, pec and delt fly as well as dumbbells, benches and a multi purpose fitness area)
The negative reviews have left us genuinely confused as between a group of 10 of us we have all had a great stay!

Still good but lost a ⭐️
3rd time at this resort, came with our full family to enjoy a special birthday. Our last visit was 5⭐️ but due to changes to restaurant availability and booking of À la Cartes, it’s lost a ⭐️
