Unique Rooms

We really enjoyed this small, 6 room, hotel just steps away from the main plaza of Bernal. It was the low tourist season and we were able to book 4 of the 6 rooms. I telephoned Casa 19 one month in advance. Each room has its own unique look with rustic wood, brick and stone walls. All rooms had their own private showers and toilets. We had 2 rooms with queen beds and 2 rooms with 2 double beds. All of our beds were very comfortable. The lobby of Casa 19 is very quaint and we used the round table for family gatherings in the evenings and enjoyed the instant hot coffee to warm us up on those very cool mornings and evenings. Even though our room, Mario, was in the lobby area, we were not disturbed. There is a television in the lobby, but we asked that it be turned off when the desk clerk left for the evening. One of the drawbacks of being in Bernal during the low season was that Casa 19's rooftop restaurants and bar were not open during the week. Although they are open for business on the weekends during this time. The view from the rooftop is stunning. We were able to find a restaurant to open for us for breakfast via the helpfulness of a waiter from the Meson de la Roca restaurant. Casa 19 supplied us with shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion and bar soap, bath towels and wash clothes, however, the rooms do not come with hand towels nor bathroom floor mats. Knowing that the desk clerk left early in the evening, I did ask for extra toilet paper which was happily provided. A room with one queen size bed cost 900 Mexican pesos or $51 USD per night. And, a room with 2 double beds cost 1,200 Mexican pesos or $69 USD per night. We felt vey safe in Bernal and Casa 19. All in all, I would highly recommend Casa 19 for its location, friendly and helpful staff and unique rooms.

No toilet paper

Though staff are friendly they are not always around. I personally had to let guests in as the front desk women went to romance her boyfriend. The pictures lie. The food is bad. And there was no toilet paper on arrival and at the worst time!
Better options in Bernal. Also no parking.

Oh My Gosh!!

Wow! The best location in Bernal ... Very close to Plaza de San Sebastián ... The restaurant on site has amazing food, variety, and a great view of La Peña! Rooms are furnished with antique furniture, and the entire hotel is also a museum filled with centuries-old memorabilia, furniture & the garden area is sooo pretty! The hotel is a 16th century mansion. Highly recommended! And hope to return again some day!! Special thanx to Gustavo & Antonio for going out of their way! All of the staff was amazing!! Thanx for a magical stay!

Agua fría, mucho ruido, sin arreglar detalles

Nos hemos quedado diversas ocasiones y siempre es lo mismo real, siempre se les acaba el agua caliente pero esta vez, ni tibia, era fria fría! Terrible!
Llegas solo literal a dormir, despertar y bañarte y no poderlo hacer cómodo es lo peor
Si le sumas un poco piki.. las primeras habitaciones se escucha todo el ruido del pasillo así que si tienes sueño ligero no dormirás nada! Y la tv aunque tiene cable, se ve como si fuera de antena común (señal malísima).
Detalles a cuidar por cuartos de 1,400mxn hay mejores opciones by far en Bernal.

Muy tranquilo!!!

El hotel 19 de enero se encuentra en el centro de Peña de Bernal, es muy tranquilo y acogedor. El hotel es Rustico y las paredes son de piedra, pero a pesar de q el clima estaba frío, la cama es muy buena, súper cómoda y calientita. Es una opción ideal para un fin de semana
