A Gem in Melaka
We booked into the Dusit Princess Melaka Hotel in late June with my husband. When we walked through the main door, we were greeted by the “Chinese sail-boat” with “treasures” and the nostalgia and charming Chandelier lighting. This is a good welcome as the sail-boat signifies “soon-soon” (smooth sailing/good luck) in Chinese culture. The location of the hotel is great! Easy accessibility to shopping and local street food. However, the hotel offers great dining options too!
Room
We checked into the Dusit Club King room. The view from our room was fantastic. Our room had large windows to bring in natural light and the generous lighting kept the room bright and cheerful in the night, which is important to me. Our room was spacious; we still had plenty of space to move around even when our 2 luggage bags were spread out. The earth tone colour of the room and carpet gave the room a cozy, calming and overall, a relaxed feel. The bed and pillows were comfortable which was a relief as I have a back problem. The shower enclosure was roomy and the water pressure was great. I also appreciate the more hygienic liquid hand soap.
Dining
The breakfast buffet at Zest was a delight, especially the freshly fried Char-Kway-Teow. I looked forward to that and the Teh-Tarik every morning. We were fortunate to catch the Teh Tarik trolley, and the staff member “pulled” the tea in front of us. What a performance! The other dish which is a Must-Try is the Nasi Lemak and Lontong. For those who like their food spicy, don’t forget to add the sambal into the Lontong soup and Nasi Lemak. The sambal was good- the right balance of spiciness and sweetness.
We had lunch and dinner in the Chinese restaurant – Long Feng. The dim sum was decent and I was delighted to find that the restaurant has Steamed Pomfret (TeoChew style) in their menu. The fish was fresh and was perfectly cooked. The Stir-fried Dragon Chives with Minced Garlic was delicious and my husband loved the Deep-fried prawns in wasabi mayonnaise and the Silver Duck (pre-order is required). We enjoyed our meals in the hotel every much, all the dishes we tried did not disappoint. Another plus point, I learned that the hotel does not use pork in their dishes, which is great for Pescatarians like me.
Club Lounge
Our favourite place in the hotel was the club lounge on the 24th Floor. The lounge was spacious, with plenty of comfortable reading chairs and sofas. I loved the view! As you see from the pictures, the lounge has a million dollar view of Melaka town. There’s bottled water, soda drinks, coffee and tea available in the lounge. Besides fruits, there were local goodies like coconut cookies, pineapple tarts etc. I find the lounge is conducive for guests who want to chill with a good book or just to escape Melaka’s afternoon heat. Light cocktail refreshment is served from 5:30pm. My husband and I loved the refreshment very much, they were YUMMYLICIOUS! I would highly recommend the Club floor, it is worth it!
Service
Service staff at all guest touchpoints were polite, helpful and respectful. Special call out to Samuel at the concierge desk. Samuel is friendly and very helpful in arranging our transport needs to/from the airport. Overall, both my husband and I enjoyed the hospitality in Dusit Princess Melaka and definitely will come back. Kudos to the hotel’s staff and management team.
Room

Enjoyable Experience
Location was not far from the central jonker walk area.10-15minute walk.
Concierge was very helpful and responsive.
Hotel is new and lifts are fast relative to other hotels.
Room was fantastic, clean and well maintained. Deluxe King room has
Torch,Umbrella and a Phone in washroom.
TV channels seemed limited relatively to non-English, Chinese or Malay speakers.
Zest restaurant has a good variety of cuisines, and also vegetarian options.
Good place to spend a quiet night.
Solo travelers need to note the waitress was very efficient to clear the table. My table was cleared on a few occasions when I was still getting some more food when there was no partner on the table.
Weekend mornings may be crowded especially after 9am as there maybe other guests visiting restaurants.
There are also other amenities like gym,swimming pool which are well maintained.
Concierge was very helpful and responsive.

Dusit Princess Melaka - best hotel we stayed
Dusit Princess Melaka is definitely the best hotel we had stayed as we had been to Malacca so many times with staycation in other hotels. All the staffs had the best attitude, greeted everyone with their smile and attended to our needs fast. The room was spacious and super super clean, we loved it the moment we stepped into the room. Without doubt, the next time we coming to Malacca again, this is the hotel we are going to stay, thank you once again for the services and absolutely fantastic attitude that my wife and I will not forget.

Great Rooms, but Disappointing Restaurant Service
Mixed experience. Room service was good and front desk staff were welcoming. However, breakfast was a huge letdown. A restaurant staff member named Alfan gave me a terrible, unhelpful response when I asked for pure fresh juice, rigidly citing 'SOP' rather than trying to help. The service management here is well below expectations, and the breakfast is definitely not worth it.

Satisfied staycation
Professional and polite staff, the bed very comfy till I feel lazy to going out.View facing river and kampung morten. We were given complimentary cake and late check out as per requested. Toilet got bidet.Breakfast was superb.The downside is only on tv channel.Not android just basic channel.
