Lovely serviced hotel in Vientiane

Great pre arrival communications from the hotel by email.
We loved the location, easy to walk to the major sites, close to the Mekong and also the night food market.
The hotel benefits from nice large apartments with a comfortable bed, good air conditioning and a reasonably stocked kitchen. Good to also have a dressing table, coffee table, sofa, dining table, 3 chairs, clothes rail, ironing board and iron.
We didn’t go for a bed & breakfast package, but did make use of the large pool and communal laundry facilities. The pool here slopes from 0.8m to 1.8m in depth and is geared for quiet relaxation. No pool bar or 24/7 music, just the opportunity to swim, chill and enjoy the birdsong from the gardens
Front of house team - A wonderful welcome from Aemmy & Anitsa on reception on arrival. Cheerful, informative and very helpful. Really helped us settle into the hotel
Also a big thank you to Sinthavong & Khambai on reception when we had to print off our Singapore Arrival Cards and amended flight details. That little kind gesture has made our onward travel so easy.
A big shout out to the housekeeping team. These guys behind the scenes are normally overlooked and therefore deserve recognition in their own right. Fresh towels provided every day and the option for a bedding refresh too. Exceptional service and attention to detail. Sorry I didn’t get your names.

They upgraded our room after 1st night. The deluxe room facing the city view was spacious but noisy from the traffic and mosquitoes kept us awake. Nice of them to upgrade the room facing the pool. Breakfast is ok. They can do better with a more choices. Location is within was distance to some attractions and shops.

Very comfortable and clean apartment in a great location. Bed is firm, balcony has a nice view of downtown, kitchen is small but well appointed and I used it most days. Lao people are incredibly friendly and I felt welcomed everywhere I went. There is a nice grocery right across the street, the mall next to it, and within walking distance to the night market and street market. The host was super responsive. If you like hot water showers, I highly recommend. The pool is wonderful and the building is very secure with lobby staff 24 hours a day. Big 5 stars!

Room is really clean, but the interior starts to show its age, location is close to airport.

I stayed for five nights and overall have a good experience at Somerset. The hotel was well known so it was easy to point to taxi drivers who have minimal English. The hotel was situated on main road so it was easy to go around by food or by local Loca taxies.
Little downside was the building has shown some age, so toilet problem (although this was fixed real quick), the bedding sheets were bit dusty so I asked for replacement, and dusty sofa (I have a bit of dust allergy) and curtains. But after a more thorough cleaning the room was quite comfortable from the second night. So, recommended with notes.
