It all started with the gentleman that was at the reception when we got there. Very friendly, polite and helpful. He put up with my broken italian graciously, and also prepared is the best cappuccinos in the morning.
The location is perfect if you don't want the constant bustle of central Rome (believe me: you probably don't). The area is residential, quiet, has several local restaurants for memorable meals, and is 15 minutes from the Colosseum (including walking to the subway and the quick 3 stops ride).
An excellent choice for Rome!

Disappointed at 360 degrees

Despite having booked well in advance I found myself in a room in the basement damp and without heating, on the windows showy aggregations of mold of various kinds, door unsafe access, in general the room was not healthy.
I had to leave because my asthma problems did not allow me to stay in that environment.
Despite everything, the property manager had said that they would refund all the money paid and...... they did not refund anything!!!!
Unfortunately unprofessional and honest!!!

Room was okay and day staff was very helpful and kind... night staff, on the other hand, was absolutely ghastly - he was unhelpful and downright hostile at times. You can't enter the hotel after 1:30AM without ringing the doorbell as the door was locked (which already makes very little sense - and sometimes I arrived before 1:30 and he had already locked it) and he would always act like he was doing you an enormous favor by opening the door (rather than, you know, his job) going so far as to refusing to do it altogether. I was lucky I had an Italian friend who could call him REPEATEDLY until he finally accepted he had to open the door. It was absolutely the worst.

Unfortunately, our experience at Hotel Lodi was not positive.
The hotel is very old, poorly isolated, and there was a really unpleasant smell in the bathroom. For the price paid — 671 francs for 4 nights without breakfast — we definitely expected something better.
Moreover, at check-in, we had a very strange situation with the gentleman at the reception: he initially quoted a price of 771 euros/francs (we heard it from two people), then he immediately corrected himself saying, "no no, I said 671." Honestly, this left us with an unpleasant and unprofessional feeling.
Overall, for us, the value for money absolutely does not justify the cost. Personally, we will not return.

It’s a very basic hotel. I stayed with two friends. We knew that we would only come back to the hotel to sleep because we were going to be touristing all day, so this was a fine hotel. Front desk is very friendly rooms are very clean. Hotel is located in a suburban Neighbourhood so it was pretty quiet. In terms of location, however you can use the bus to get where you need to go, but it is kind of far from the central city. We also had to use bus or Uber to take us to the main city. Yes the room is small and yes, the showers are small, but it’s objective was literally just to house us for the days that we were going to be in Rome and that was fine.
