Overall we enjoyed our stay. The check in process was easy and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The A/C is a huge plus as it was June and very hot outside. The property description says free parking. However, when we checked in, the owner told me we had to pay the parking meter. Luckily, the machine wasnt working. Be aware that the bathroom is very small. Im almost 6 ft and my knees were touching the wall when sitting on the toilet. My wife is 5'3" and she felt it wasnt enough room. When we left for the day, the room was made. That was a nice surprise! The bars, shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. Check out was very easy.

Terrible Experience with No Compassion – Avoid at All Costs!

I was planning a holiday to Italy and had a reservation at La Papaya, but unfortunately, on the day of my departure, I got sick, fainted, and had to be rushed to the hospital. This unexpected situation caused me to miss my flight and cancel all my hotel bookings. While I admit I didn't check the cancellation fee on their booking site beforehand, I called the hotel to explain my situation.
The person I spoke with barely understood English and said he would contact me through the website. It took him two whole days to get back to me, and when he did, he insisted he couldn’t waive the cancellation fee because the website would charge him a commission fee. This was an outright lie, as I had already spoken to the booking platform’s customer service, and they confirmed that wasn’t the case.
Out of the three hotels I booked, La Papaya was the only one that refused to refund my money. The other two hotels were understanding and refunded me without issue, but this so-called “hotel” was the complete opposite. To make matters worse, the person on the phone had the audacity to say, “If you book again, we’ll offer you a better price.” Really? How can I trust you to make me a “better price” when you’re already refusing to return the money you owe me?
This place has no heart, no compassion, and no sense of decency. It’s not like I canceled for fun—I was in the hospital and couldn’t travel! Instead of showing empathy, they made my situation even worse.
Save yourself the stress and do not book at La Papaya. They clearly care more about finding excuses to keep your money than treating guests with kindness or respect. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Bedroom and bathroom to redo

I honestly hesitated to give only one star. Only the exterior environment and the geographical location are nice, unfortunately as breakfast is no longer served since covid, according to the owner, we cannot really enjoy it. The rooms are tired, the paint is stained, a disgusting, poorly functioning blind covers the front door. What can we say about the bathroom...broken tiles, mold in the shower, peeling paint, loose sink and toilet stuck to the shower cubicle, difficult to access for adults.
It's a shame, it's a beautiful building in a good location but the rooms are in serious need of renovation.

I rate the b&b La Papaya excellent.
Strategic location a few steps from the sea Very nice and well cleaned our room, equipped with everything you need for a peaceful stay. Prices are more than fair. Also worth mentioning is the availability of managers, not so obvious nowadays. We felt comfortable immediately, as if we were at home.
Yes, I can say that my family and I were completely satisfied.
No doubt we will be back!!
