Central, clean and nicely furnished

We stayed recently for a friend's wedding. Brilliant central location. Clean and tidy. Easy access and check-out process. Would definitely book to come again.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I have travelled the world

The property was old the furnishings were tatty. It was far from boutique. The staff barely spoke English and were not helpful.We were delayed arriving and let them know, no boat to the island was available so they booked us another hotel on the mainland which we were grateful for and paid the hotel directly expecting the 1st night of our stay with Hotel Elvezia to be deducted from the bill On checkout we were told flatly that they would not refund the night we could not stay as they could have let it to someone else!! If we could not get to the island then how would someone else be able to???? This this is sheer robbery and greed by the owners of the hotel Great start to the holiday !!!
I have a diary allergy and they were emailed on booking to tell them this and I had no reply. I had to tell them on several occasions, whilst there not to serve me anything with dairy in it only to have to send things back because they contained dairy
The breakfast was Spartan to say the least, the croissants dry and old and dumped on the table and left for the birds to peck at. No facilities for toast and only scrambled eggs and greasy pancetta if you did not want the cheese and ham.
The isand itsef is far from the romantic peaceful place it is marketed as, full of stalls selling tat and 2 or 3 food outlets selling poor food at extortionate cost.
The constant drone and smell of all the boats bringing/taking tourists to the island was exhausting and noisy All in all a most unpleasant experience all round and one which I will never repeat
Do not waste your money at this hotel.

Great stay in

Clean apartment, complete for every need (kettle, coffee machine, microwave, washing machine, drying rack), kitchen complete with appliances and dishes.
Very nice bedrooms.
Clean bathroom; only flaw the lack of the bidet and the sink very nice but impractical.

Fantastic base for exploring lake Maggiore

I've had the pleasure of staying at hotel Elvezia several times and have never been disappointed. The hosts are so helpful and considerate. The staff is very helpful as well. The place is spotlessly clean and very warm and homey. It is just a stones throw from the ferry to all the lake has to offer which is a lot! It is extremely economical. I highly recommend it.

One of the best stays ever!

Stayed for one night at this magical boutique hotel on the island of Isola Bella. The room with balcony was beautiful and overlooking the lake (each room was named after a famous poet/writer). What a view it was! The staff, in particular Sara and Margerite, were wonderful and I cannot express how helpful and friendly they were. Nothing was too much trouble. No doubt it was one of the best stays ever!!! Perfect!
