Clean and spacious apartment in a peaceful setting
We enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Queens Brook apartment. It was bigger than we expected and we were delighted to find tea and milk available when we arrived! The gardens attached to the lodges are well maintained and we appreciated being able to sit out there during the nice weather. It was a very peaceful location and a perfect spot for exploring the local area. We definitely want to return.

Beautiful Venue, Disappointing Food & Service
We visited Beechtree Tea Rooms today for my mum’s birthday lunch. While the venue itself is beautiful, unfortunately the experience was disappointing.
The service was extremely slow from start to finish. We had to wave down staff to take our order, waited a long time for both drinks and food, and no one checked on us during the meal despite us trying to get a server’s attention.
My sister and I both ordered the chicken Caesar salad, which was very poor. The chicken was dry, bland and served in large chunks, the lettuce was heavily overdressed, and the croutons were so chewy they seemed stale rather than crisp. We left almost all of the chicken and croutons, eating only some of the lettuce.
When we raised our concerns while our plates were being cleared, there was no apology. We were told the chicken was “supposed to be like that” and that nothing could be done because we’d eaten half the meal, which wasn’t the case. One salad was almost untouched, and the other had only the lettuce eaten.
It’s disappointing that no one checked on our table during the meal, leaving us no opportunity to have the dishes replaced. We left paying the full bill for two meals we couldn’t eat, still hungry, and without so much as an apology. Sadly, despite the lovely setting, we won’t be returning.

Great ambiance, rude staff
I recently visited Bective Tea Rooms with friends and family, and while the venue itself is beautiful, my experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the staff's attitude.
The ambiance was lovely, making it a great spot for gathering with loved ones. However, I found the food to be just average, which was disappointing given the setting.
What truly marred our visit was the behavior of the staff. I understand that small children can be a handful, but the way one staff member addressed us was particularly unprofessional. A woman with blonde hair reprimanded us in a tone that felt unnecessarily harsh, and I believe a more polite approach would have made a significant difference.
Additionally, as we were leaving, I witnessed an incident that left a sour taste. A young girl was innocently holding a stick near the gate when a staff member in a light blue Ford Focus with reddish hair stopped her car, got out, and aggressively took the stick from the child while scolding, “You need to control your kids.” This reaction was excessive, especially since the girl was simply carrying the stick. Afterward, the staff member returned to her car, appearing visibly angry and muttering something that seemed quite unprofessional.
If a restaurant welcomes children, it’s essential for staff to understand that parents cannot always control their kids perfectly. A polite request for parents to keep an eye on their children would have sufficed and created a more welcoming atmosphere.
Unfortunately, due to the rude behaviour of the staff, I don’t think I will return to Bective Tea Rooms.

A LITTLE GEM
We called in here late afternoon just for coffee, as we were passing it and it was such a nice day.
We will definately come back, as its such a lovely experience. We sat in the beautiful luxurious pod outside, but the whole interior and quality of the outside dining area would take your breath away.No where nicer on a sunfilled day. We had a look at the menu to come back another day and it was extensive, if not a bit pricy, but for the ambience and the lovely manerly welcoming staff I guess its worth it.
I have eaten here with friends in the past on many occasion and have had lovely memories of it.

Fabulous food front of house very bad
Excellent food and lovely staff except the man who met us when we entered and asked us to stand outside and wait to be called even do there was nobody else in the queue! When we did get a seat he came to take our order we asked for a few minutes!he never came back eventually one of the girls took our order after people who were in after us were served .
