Disappointing service From ITC

I had high expectations from ITC WelcomHeritage Nainital, but my stay was extremely disappointing and nowhere close to the standards expected from the ITC brand.
The experience started on a poor note. When we checked into our room, it was not properly cleaned. We immediately informed the staff and requested housekeeping, but no action was taken, and the room remained in the same condition.
There is no valet parking, no shuttle service, and no proper guidance for guests regarding local sightseeing or transportation. These are basic services one expects from a premium hotel.
The manager at the reception lacked basic hospitality etiquette. He was mostly sitting on his chair, busy on phone calls, and appeared uninterested in attending to guests. There was no visible supervision or control over the staff.
We left for Kainchi Dham at around 4:30 AM, and to our surprise, there was no one at the reception. We had to open the main entrance ourselves, and there was no security guard at the main gate, raising serious concerns about guest safety and security.
The breakfast service was poorly managed. Only one staff member was handling the entire dining area, resulting in slow service. We had to repeatedly remind the staff to refill food items and attend to basic requests.
Although the hotel has an activity room, it looked like it had not been maintained or used for a long time. The room felt stuffy and poorly ventilated, and even the carrom board was covered in dust. It was not a place where families or children would want to spend time.
The property is not kids-friendly despite advertising recreational facilities. The lack of maintenance and attention to guest experience was evident throughout our stay.
Overall, the service, cleanliness, management, amenities, and security were far below expectations. Instead of feeling like a premium ITC WelcomHeritage property, the experience felt more like staying in an average guesthouse. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving housekeeping, hospitality, guest services, maintenance, and security to match the reputation of the ITC brand.
