Athang Staycation, Diveagar, is one such place.
Writing this on Day 1, right after lunch. Three more days to go — and I already know.
Mountains on one side. The sea and Diveagar beach visible in the distance from your window.
Tucked deep inside a thick, lush plantation, right on top of a hill.
A secured, gated hilltop pocket, with a few other bungalows around — but this location is unbeatable.
Came here with my mother, after a rough patch we both needed to heal from.
4-5 hours from Mumbai. Worth every minute for a view like this.
But what really stayed with me was the care of the owner, Mr. Mane.
He wasn’t even on-site — yet he personally made sure every single thing we needed was taken care of, down to the smallest detail. That kind of care isn’t trained. It’s who he is.
Adith looked after us like family. Chef Gaurav cooked like he knew us for years.
A big shoutout to my Jain and Gujarati friends — proper vegetarian thalis, done right.
Seafood lovers, Konkani non-veg — you’re covered too.
Honestly? For a location this exclusive, this is Taj- or Hilton-level nature immersion — at budget pricing.
But here’s the thing, guys: don’t come here flaunting five-star expectations.
This is run by simple village folks, light on manpower, heavy on heart.
Be kind, be patient, and let them serve you the way they know how — from the heart.
If it’s polished luxury you want, go to a Hilton. If it’s soul you want, come here.
