Stay at Brigitte's
Brigitte is very welcoming, a magnificent long house decorated with care. The breakfast was plentiful, ideal before a day of walking.

Wonderful stay at La Colombière.
Brigitte gave us an extraordinary welcome in her magnificent long house. The setting is sublime, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, and the breakfast made from farm products is an absolute delight! She took great care of us; how could one give less than 5 stars?

Alas... a disappointment
My husband and I with our two little Russell jacks stayed for 3 nights at La Colombière in Beaussais-sur-Mer, in the Breton countryside. The house, seen from the outside, is very beautiful and charming, surrounded by greenery; however, the garden was poorly maintained, with grass cut only in the area in front of the entrance whose mowings were everywhere.
The room and bathroom were very spacious, furnished in typical French style, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, however, the room had a strong smell of closed and damp.
The main problems, however, concern the common areas. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner and made to sit inside, but the initial positive impression quickly faded: the entrance was cluttered with stained outdoor mattresses and pillows, with an obvious smell of staleness and poor cleaning. In the sitting area there was a new mattress resting on the sofa, intended for an upstairs room, which made it impossible to use the space to relax. Widespread dust, unpleasant smells (between stale and other) as well as intense scents like incense (perhaps to combat unpleasant odors) contributed to creating an unwelcoming environment.
Even the breakfast room was not up to scratch: fireplace area and cupboards appeared neglected, with dust accumulated long ago. The breakfast itself was very poor although good.
The owner justified herself only for the new mattress in the living room, claiming that we were the first guests of the season, ensuring that it would be removed the next day, which did not happen.
We arrived on the evening of April 26 and were supposed to stay until the 30th, but we were forced to leave a day early because the experience was not in line with our expectations. Moreover, despite the fact that Booking indicated the daily cleaning of the room, this was carried out only after the second night, and only after our report: the owner stated that the service was required, something not specified at the time of booking indeed specified in Booking daily cleaning. The following day, this indication was removed from the site.
In conclusion we paid the full amount for a property with great potential but, at present, not ready to be rented at this price level, given the obvious criticalities in terms of cleanliness, maintenance and services.

A paradise of peace and nature in Baussais sur Mer
We were very lucky to find availability. La Colombière is a paradise of peace and nature, in the countryside, with a house full of charm of the 17th century. Its owner, Brigitte, greeted us with great kindness and a big smile. We loved the breakfast, delicious, in this Mood so nice.
