Outstanding Customer Service
I want to thank Teo and Shannon for their outstanding customer service they have provided to me. Due to a family emergency I had to cancel my reservation. Both Teo and Shannon were very accommodating and reasonable when it came to helping me out with my circumstances. Unfortunately booking.com put up a negative review from me which was misleading. I can only rate my experience with both ladies which was totally beyond what any words can say. Thank You both for being understanding and helping me with my situation. I pray that we get the chance to finally stay there in the near future. Once again Thank You for everything you have done.

HANDICAP HELL!!!!!
On August 16, 2026, my wife and I arrived at the property at approximately 5:30 p.m. We had reserved a room based on representations made on the hotel’s website, which repeatedly advertised “facilities for disabled guests” (noted on site at least three occasions) and specifically claimed the property was “wheelchair accessible.” The website also advertised non-smoking rooms.
Upon arrival, we were shown three rooms—two on the second floor and one on the third floor. There is no elevator on the property. All stairways are extremely narrow and difficult to navigate. We clearly explained our medical limitations to the night clerk: I have documented heart disease and recently underwent my third back surgery; my wife is recovering from a total knee replacement. As a result, none of the rooms offered were usable by us. In addition, two of the rooms had the odor of old cigar and cigarette smoke.
We requested a refund of the charge already processed on our debit card. Both the night clerk and the manager (Shannon) refused, stating that no refunds would be issued even if we did not stay. When I pointed out that the website’s claims of disability accessibility were inaccurate—there is not even a designated handicapped parking space—they offered no substantive response.
Although the location to the beach was 2 minutes The Oceanic Inn is not in compliance with the American Disability Act of 1990 as they stated they are on their website.
I do understand this location is great for many people, but if you as a business are going to advertise ADA compliant then the Inn should be able to take care of the people who need handicap accessibility.
In closing, a warning to all that need handicap accessibility, do not believe anything this Inn has on its website, please understand you will find no accommodations for you and your health issues.

Room 11 has challenges
Contrary to the description of being newly renovated, this was not our experience in room 11. The bed was not new. The fixtures were not new. The Wi-Fi was not high speed, we could not connect at all. We had a view of the parking lot. It also sits above a nightclub that you can hear through the floor. On the weekend the noise from the amusement park and the bar next-door and the train going by and of course, the nightclub downstairs do not make her a restful night sleep. The futon is somewhat broken. The toaster functions only if you continue holding down the lever with some force. There is a microwave and a refrigerator, but there are no plates forks or anything to help you prepare any food with. Nor is there any dish soap or towels for the sink clean anything you might have brought. These things could be explained better. There is no common room as we assumed from the description for making or having breakfast.
That being said, the staff were lovely, even though the room was tired and dated, it was .clean. And proximity to the beach was very nice. A short walk to the downtown.

Bad experience at The New Oceanic Inn
We had terrible experience in this hotel. Every part of the suite was in bad shape, furnitures are broken, unfinished wall, bathroom with seepage wall and tiles coming out!! We did complain but the response was very different, it is like "you get only you have"!!

location actually isn't everything
don't do it!!! our room had apparently been broken into the night before.
some shady business going on in the rooms which appear to be long term rentals.
server at nearby restaurant told us to leave there immediately, said there's lots of drug activity.
staff was nice enough and did refund us. But seriously, beware!!!
