Unique, Clean, & Great Amenities!

We’ve stayed at several places around Traverse City and the Leelanau Peninsula, but Anchor Inn has quickly become our favorite! The rooms are immaculate, and the décor is not only unique but also incredibly stylish. The property itself is a true gem, with wonderful amenities like fire pits, a sauna, and, of course, the private beachfront on Traverse Bay complete with kayaks. We rented e-bikes from the inn and had an unforgettable day cruising up to Suttons Bay. It’s clear the owners have poured their heart and soul into this place, with thoughtful details and exceptional hospitality at every turn. I couldn’t recommend Anchor Inn more for anyone planning a trip to Northern Michigan!

Worst hotel experience in 40 years of travel

Bad experience overall. Room was NEVER cleaned in a 4-night stay, even after asking for service. Shower in the king room was 26"x28", which is absurd. Bathroom has no exhaust fan, and the window mechanism was frozen in the closed position, so intolerable. Wiring in the closet is exposed/stapled to the door frame - that's not safe or code compliant in any state! Screens leaked bugs. Toilet space was comically narrow! Parking lot was a dust/silt bowl. For $350+ per night, this is a pure and simple rip off.

Not the best experience. We won't come back!

We booked for one night at $145 for King deluxe suite in mid October. Quick trip to see fall colors, Fish Town (Leland) and Boones Restaurant. We checked in around 4:00. Jeff went to the office to ask where the ice machine was and office is now closed. The room looked NOTHING like the website. No separate bedroom and we had to put our suitcases on the floor. The room smelled musty and our room is COLD. It's OCTOBRRR! We left for a ride and dinner. It took the mini-split about 3 hours to heat our room. The TV remote volume couldn't be adjusted and was too loud. Sorry neighbors!
The worst issue was the next morning when my phone woke me up with a text message from the office saying Consumers Energy would be there at 9:30 for a PLANNED project and the power would be shut off for the day. Consumers arrived before 9:30 and we had to rush taking showers, packing suitcases and grabbing our fridge stuff. Consumers Energy DOESN'T just show up without scheduling. I think the owners knew it was going to happen ahead of time but did not want to share the information because people would cancel on them.

Terrible

Stayed at the innkeepers cottage the 1st week of July. The smell of paint and VOCs were so strong we had to leave after the 1st night. I only wanted to be refunded for 3 of the 4 nights and they had a poor customer service response of only giving me 2 nights back that they were able to rebook. I tried to meet them halfway and asked for half of the one night back but they refused. I left with a migraine the next morning, the night we stayed there was miserable and then we had to pay for the 2nd night as well. We had to cancel our trip entirely as everywhere else was booked. I do not recommend staying here. The property is like a pig with lipstick and they don’t value customer experience at all.

Cute place to stay. We will be back!

Very helpful and nice staff or owners. We stayed in a Queen room with separate bedroom. It was very cozy and well equipped. Nice soap, shampoo, and body wash in the bathroom. Yes the bathroom was small, but updated and the shower head was nice and high. Water pressure was good. Kitchenette had everything you need. Suggest bringing paper towel or napkins if you need microwave. We did find salt, but not pepper (not that I expected either, just trying to help if someone is cooking at all). Bed was comfortable, fireplace made it cozy. I would for sure stay again!
