Wonderful stay in Baywood Park, Las Osos
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful relaxing weekend getaway at this delightful Inn. Our room was spacious and clean and also included a kitchenette. We walked our dog through the beautiful garden space that looked on the bay. This little gem is affordable which we appreciated.
Xue greeted us when we arrived. She was very helpful and kind throughout our stay. There are several restaurants within walking distance, including a coffee bar that makes the most delicious bear claws. There’s a bar adjacent to the property called the Merrimaker that has live music. We listened to a band called Al Millan and the Robots. There were probably 100 people enjoying this band. We even bought one of their CD’s. What a treat!

Nice staff and view from our room patio. The inn no longer provides breakfast but unfortunately it was still showing up as part of the package on Hotels.com. The rooms are average size but if you book, get the top floor as we could hear the people above us.
Grounds have gardens but unfortunately needed weeding and cleaning up.

The view from the window is amazing. Unfortunately, the water does go down so having the room directly on the water goes away for a couple hours. It comes back quick though. The room was pretty clean and the bed was comfortable. We will definitely be going back to this hotel again.

Best of everything: location, affordability, great facilities and super helpful staff
I travel a lot and my experience with Back Bay Inn exceeded my expectations. First, the location is great for a nature lover like me - it's about 10 minutes in one direction to Morro Bay State Park (and the town of Morro Bay) and from Montano del Oros in in the other. Lots of preserves in between. As others, I found it peaceful looking out on the estuary; lots of birds and ducks, including one heron who was a regular walking by the path several times a day, and I saw the outline of bat rays at night!
In terms of the place itself, I felt like it had the cozyness and friendly, helpful staff you expect from an inn but with all the amenities (and extras like bath robes, nightlights, makeup cloths) that you get at a nice hotel. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and there's a coffee shop and a nice restaurant with happy hour both next door.
The front desk staff could not have been more helpful - from helping me select a room type before I came, to making sure I knew where all shared guest services were (like a kitchen with microwave), and recommending places to eat. They even went further by helping me with guides to hiking trails and kayak rental places.
I can't wait to go back! I've already recommended it to friends as well as others where I work.

Beautiful, quiet, relaxing with walkable places to eat and bird sanctuary within walking distance. Ocean Bluff and other hikes close by.
