Best in Dadeland, worst in hospitality
Could be a really lovely hotel but something isn’t quite right. As ‘Diamond For Life’ we have stated 100’s of nights at Hilton’s and this particular property has all the ingredients to be fantastic. We booked a king suite with lake view and we weren’t disappointed. Everything was clean, thought about and aesthetically pretty. We weren’t disappointed and as we were visiting our son who lives fairly locally, so the hotel was only a base. However while the actual hotel, reception area, bar, breakfast restaurant and amenities were all great for the location, the staff were either really nice, friendly, helpful and caring or the complete opposite. We came to the decision that for the help we asked for and the hospitality we received, is a management issue. Either the manager has ‘decreed’ that every guest must be looked after with the minimal effort regardless of what is supposed to be standard in every Hilton property or the staff are just being deliberately belligerent, we think the former to be true. Rather not air grievances on TA so it will be interesting to see if the manager does actually reach out for specific feedback. But one final comment, if management think the majority of guests are staying at this location for the convenience of the hospital access and so therefore can be treated as not knowing any better then that’s where the disconnect is.

Beautiful hotel with beautiful people!
Our favorite part of our stay were the people that work there. The ones that help us every day. They are friendly & funny & always willing to help. We can call them or stop by the front desk with questions, asking suggestions, call for a shuttle or whatever & they consistantly go above & beyond. We would definitely stay here again & recommend them to others! The decor & artwork is beautiful! The beds super comfortable. The only reason for a 4 star rating is the food options could be better & the bar doesnt open until 4pm.

My Experience
We always choose this location when my family member has appointments at Baptist Hospital. However, each visit has been disappointing due to the front desk staff. There is one particular female staff member who is consistently rude and dismissive, and I want to express my frustration with her behavior. She is the darker Spanish-looking woman whose name I didn’t catch. Unfortunately, most of the other female staff members have been dismissive and inattentive as well, apart for one lady wiith straight hair and lighter complexion. My apologies for having to describe them physically as I did not catch any names. The males are always smiling and very attentive. During this stay, the experience was the most dissapointing.. When I approached the desk to inquire about a package, she seemed annoyed and simply said she couldn’t find it, without even trying to assist me—she just went back to her computer and ignored my request. On a second occasion, I asked her a question and saw her speaking to another staff member from the restaurant. I assume hotel guests should be a priority, but she told me, "I am speaking to her, please wait," while giggling and continuing her conversation. The front desk staff could really benefit from being more welcoming and friendly; a simple smile and attentiveness would make a big difference, especially since many families staying here are dealing with serious health issues. I was sleep-deprived, stressed, and worried, and being treated this way by her was upsetting and unappreciated. I do have to say the houskeeping staff and all other staff were very attentive and welcoming.
Also, the bathroom has a barn sliding door and FYI you can clearly see in at certain angles. Not very nice when traveling with family, no privacy at all.

Sharp edge in bathroom, bent down to pick something up & hit head on the corner of shelf behind toilet. Bleed & bump on head. Did not require stiches but headache for days.

Our room was very clean and everything was in place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.
