Located in Fort Davis, Mountainside Inn is in the historical district and in the mountains. Davis Mountains State Park and Casket Mountain reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center and Botanical Garden and McDonald Observatory. Along with coffee/tea in a common area, this smoke-free hotel has a microwave in a common area and a refrigerator in a common area. Free WiFi in public areas and free self parking are also provided. Additionally, express check-out and a TV in a common area are onsite. Housekeeping is available on request. Mountainside Inn offers 5 air-conditioned accommodations with complimentary bottled water and coffee/tea makers. These individually decorated and furnished accommodations have separate dining areas and include kitchen islands. Beds feature pillowtop mattresses. Like coming home, only better.

My friend, Billie reserved the rooms sight unseen. I learned i should reserve and book mine separately, and I did. When I arrived, I discovered Billie had struck GOLD! The housekeeper was just finishing up vacuuming the hall and greeted me like I was a treasured friend come back home. She said it was okay that I was a little early, and gave me a quick tour of the house. Yes, house. It's like coming home, only better. There is a roomy common area with a dining table open to a full kitchen with a nice breakfast bar, complete with all the small appliances and utensils you'd need to fix a meal. Coffee ( and decaf) are available along with all the add-ins to "doctor" it, and a refrigerator with "cubbies" for each room where you can keep your cold food and drinks. The rooms are clean, quiet. My bed was quite comfortable, and the bedding was quality and soft. The bath is easy for this granny to negotiate, with a tub and hand-held shower. The wonderful ambience is "icing on the cake". We're spoiled by it. Any time I'm in that area again, I will definitely stay there.
It's at the foot of Sleeping Lion Mountain and the streets in Ft. Davis are rustic, so you might not want to come in a vehicle with low clearance.

Room 5 had access to an outside door. There was one AC, a window unit, that took about an hour and a half to cool the room but never cooled the bathroom. There were spiders and bugs around the bed and in the bathroom. The mattress was so soft that we got up before 5 am and left to make our 8 hour trip home.

Apparently the reviews aren’t accurate that was why we chose the place!!
We were there about 6;00 got to room #3 it was like walking into a furnace we immediately turned the little window unit on it did no good ,…,the bathroom was like walking into a sauna little bugs on wall I would kill then more would show needles to say no sleep we gathered our stuff up at 6;00 Fri morning and left….
So not sure what problem was but that place isn’t worth $150 a night the road in was terrible also…
So with that being said this is an accurate review!!!!!

Beautifully appointed house with 5 en suite guest rooms, common front room and full kitchen.
Never saw any staff, but received texts with explicit instructions for gaining access and checking out. Also received contact information for obtaining help with any problems. We had no problems. Great stay, reasonable cost. Particularly good coffee for brewing in room.
TV had basic cable, but no internet connection for apps, etc.—but we weren’t there to watch tv.

Absolutely lovely and would definitely stay here again! The inn smelled lovely and fresh upon entering and is wonderfully furnished. Our room (Room 1) was really clean, smelled fresh, and the beds and pillows were so comfortable! We had the place to ourselves and only used the shared fridge to keep our drinks cool (each room has a basket in the fridge to keep your things separate). The “backyard” views and night sky were unbelievable! The inn is on a small gravel road right off of State Street, so you could walk for food/drinks/shopping if you wanted!
