Time machine
The hotel is located in the heart of downtown. It is located right across the street from an historic old movie theater. The hotel was build back in the early 1900's and has been renovated to have lights(the conduit shows), each room has a window ac/heater and their is one main ceiling light in the room.Each room also has a coffee maker and a microwave, which I didn't use. The hotel has an elevator as the hotel has 4 floors but the elevator barely holds one person. But it is a very charming hotel with a lot of character.
The bathroom has a very small sink, a tub/shower and toilet. The bath looks like it was remodeled about 40 years ago. The lighting at the sink is very minimal and there is very little room to place your toiletries near the sink.
The hotel has a nice bar and restaurant. The food is not gourmet but was good and reasonable priced. I ate dinner and breakfast. They give you a coupon for a free buffet or $5 off the menu items. The buffet looked like it lived up to being free (mostly continental breakfast) so I ordered a real breakfast. It was very good.
The hotel does offer one modern convenience, they will valet your car, which is a good deal since there seems to be very little parking convenient to the hotel. I don't remember the cost but it was not very expensive.
What this hotel has is history. If you need modern conveniences, then this hotel will not work for you. Stay out near the interstate but it you want to stay in a time machine, I think you will appreciate this old hotel.
