Downtown Hotel/conference center

Back in Appleton for business. In the early 2000s I spent several days at this place both for conferences here as well as work. Paper Valley is a famous place, known for a great (expensive) steak house and nice rooms. Pay to park across the covered walk way for 10 bucks a day. On arrival staff was super. The room was clean and ready. There was a Keurig coffee maker. There was a mini fridge but no microwave. My view was of a courtyard-nothing special. Room service missed cleaning even when I asked twice. Beyond that, it was a great stay. Plenty of bars, ice cream and small shops within walking distance. A short walk (shout out) to Cleo's bar. The hotel is also a conference center with conference rooms. One room held over 200. Public Bathrooms were clean. I recommend this place in the future.

Hotel is good, two shortcomings: the WiFi is very slow, and the room cleaning is oddly incomplete. They didn’t clean the coffee station counter, leaving used creamer wrappers, etc and not wiping the surface. And small pieces of trash that weren’t in the trash can were left on the floor. But there was a conspicuous sign an QR code for tipping. So I guess it’s partial do it yourself cleaning, or maybe tips are required before service. In any case that’s not Hilton quality.

This felt a little bit like being at a resort. Room was spacious and comfy. Beautiful pool!

Everything was good except for the tv. The reception was horrible the whole stay so when we were in the room to relax not much fun really frustrating
