Family visit.
Good location, Clean, Friendly staff.
Everything you need for a good basic hotel.
For us as a family returning to cala d'or playa unfortunately it just didn't have the same wow factor. The entertainment team work endlessly but didn't have the same feel as the previous team. The crocodile water obstacle didn't appear either in the two weeks we were there. This hotel is definitely for families but I'd say for younger children.
Be ready to be awake early as sunbeds start being taken at 6.15-6-30. Especially if you want a sun umbrella as there aren't enough for all. The lifeguard does monitor the situation but not until her shift starts at 10am so the damage has already been done.

Great family holiday
We have just returned from a lovely family holiday at Playa. We booked this hotel as we fancied a SC holiday this year and ir had good reviews. It's a fairly basic hotel that ticks all of the boxes for a good holiday. Check in was easy and our first impressions of the room were positive. Rooms are well equipped and clean. Beds are quite comfortable and storage was fine. We were pleased to find our AC was free. The hotel is small, so you're never far away from the pool or bar.
Staff are very friendly and helpful and are a real positive.
The location is amazing. 5-10 mins walk away from shops and restaurants. Maybe 10-15 mins away from x3 beautiful beaches.
The pool area is perfect for children. It gets very busy and were lots of children in the pool when we were there. This wasnt a problem for us but dont expect peace and quiet...Some of the children were over zealous but this was not the hotel's fault, more parents that couldn't be bothered or were also rude themselves...
The bar/restaurant serves good quality food and drinks but imo is overpriced. This disappointed us and forced us to either eat out or fetch drinks from a local shop...
You'll have a great holiday here if you're with children. Id perhaps go somewhere else if you are a couple!
Finally, the sunbed situation isn't too bad but is a thing. You'll need to be up and out between 7-7.30 for a decent spot ;-)

Perfect hotel for kids!
Stayed here for 9 nights in early July and absolutely adored the place. The staff were so friendly from the people in the bar, the people who cleaned the rooms and most of all the entertainment team who our daughters fell in love with.
The entertainment throughout the day was inclusive of all ages and all the pool related activity they’d all get involved in including the slides! Mini disco on a daily basis was a must do for our 3/5 year olds & the evening entertainment was always great.
Food at the place was also really good. Highly recommend the bbq night really good value for money with a diverse set of food available
Rooms were spacious, kitchen area / kitchen storage is a bit small but depends what you’re after we only used the rooms for lunch and did a couple of pasta nights! Rooms were always clean and we had a quiet room looking out across the apartment complex next door but that suits us rather than being situated over the pool!
The ONLY criticism is the parasol situation. My partner spoke to the hotel during our visit to offer suggestions because it was absolute carnage on a daily basis - there are signs everywhere about not reserving sun beds which we respected, but nobody does people are out as early as 6:30am to reserve sun beds under the parasols which are amazing just not enough of them. I’ve never been anywhere, where people had to purchase or borrow beach parasols just to get shade! Got to give a lot of respect to the female life guard who regularly did remove towels from unattended beds but didn’t start til 10 so a lot of damage was already done
Overall, absolutely loved the place would highly recommend to anybody with children we’ll be coming back next year!

Another great holiday
Another brilliant holiday on our 4th visit to this hotel. Unbeatable location a short walk from numerous cove beaches and all the lovely restaurants of Cala D'Or. This year the animation schedule was better than ever, thanks to Miguel and his team for making it so fun! And nice new additions of bbq and burger nights and neon parties keep the atmosphere lively during the day.
We just had a normal room (as opposed to superior) this time but it was lovely, clean and spacious with a huge and quiet balcony.
The only point for improvement for me would be the aging plastic sun loungers. They sag and get quite dirty, also very crammed together. It feels like they could do with an upgrade!
Everything else spot on, brilliant cocktails, food, staff, location, entertainment, atmosphere, the lot :)

Perfect family holiday
Cannot recommend this hotel enough as a young family, the hotel was perfect for what we needed and we would definitely return which is a rarity as we like to try new places,
The rooms were clean and had all you could need and the air con was good, the balconies really big so you could sit and enjoy the sun, being over two floors only meant you didn’t hear much noise if at all,
All staff were friendly and helpful and our daughter loved all the entertainment team in particular, she loved taking part in their activities which too broke up the day, they really didn’t include all children
The pools were perfect to cool off and the children’s pool not being too deep meant it was much easier to supervise, safe to say the slides were loved by all. The female lifeguard works extremely hard all day, we did mention one day that someone had put towels down and come 3pm still not around and she moved them so others could take the space, but generally easy enough to get a sunbed,
We had lunch a few times which was nice enough and reasonably priced, and the staff friendly,
Location wise it was perfect for a stroll to Cala gran or esmeralda beach as well as restaurants and we didn’t struggle walking anywhere, there was nothing we could say to fault the hotel,
As mentioned few times please take swimming shoes for little ones as saw several children and adults slip, could do with a dry of excess water every hour or so but that’s literally it!
