Nice stay
The location is excellent, it has a parking area about 10 minutes away and you will reach Plaza del Obradoiro in 5 minutes. Very friendly service from the workers. There is a café where you are also served and is perfect for breakfast. The room is nice and comfortable.
Being in the center has its good part and also its bad part, in this case, the street is very noisy at night because people do not stop passing, having no air conditioning or fan, you have to have the window open and all the noise comes in, but if you leave it closed, it is hot inside the room. The room is a bit small and could use a fridge. There is no elevator and you have to climb the stairs with your bags. But despite all this, the positives weigh more heavily and I wouldn't mind repeating.

Good choice
Noise at night in the same building and on the street. Excessive heating. The receptionist is almost never there, not even on the phone. Otherwise he was attentive when he was indicating the places we could visit. Very good price on the other hand. Clean.

Highly recommended!
Simple but very cozy place, in the center of the old town, close to everything. I recommend getting breakfast, what it offers is little but good, very friendly service, super friendly bar girl. The room is small but perfect for a couple or traveling alone.

Bad customer service
We stayed there for one night in August, the room was classy but cramped and on a main Street so window had to be closed all night. The receptionist was very young (but also very helpful) and the breakfast, in the cafe next door was the standard coffee, toast and OJ. Our big problem was that the electricity cut off around midnight and the emergency light came on, we thought it was a serious problem, fire or something similar, so called the number provided but the owner/manager didn't seem to care and said he'd look at it in the morning. So we had half of our time there with no lights, shower, tv or internet and with the emergency light on in the room all night. We were offered a small discount for another night but we had to leave and were offered no refund. The electricity came back at 8:30 am (just a fuse switch I think) but the whole hotel was left without power for nearly 9 hours and they didn't care or even say sorry. I would look elsewhere.

Wonderful staff and location
We stayed at the Hotel Real for 2 nights after completing the Camino Ingles. The location is perfect, 5 minutes to anything in the old city. It has a relaxed atmosphere, lovely breakfast/sitting area where you can grab a coffee or sit and relax. The breakfast selection offered is excellent. They will do a load of laundry for you for 10 Euros. The streets in a big city can be noisy but the windows here are pretty much soundproof. Another bonus is the Blu Cafe next door - really just downstairs and you can access their garden from the hotel. Wonderful selection of wines and menu of the day (but only at lunch). All in all a great staff, amazing staff and we would definitely book here next visit to Santiago.
