Cozy peaceful hostel a short walk from Montanita beach

Stayed here for 2 nights in a 4 bed dormitory, and I loved it, even though I did not enjoy Montanita as a city. Mauna was the perfect getaway from the overly touristic, party vibe that the city had. Made some real good friends, got a tattoo made by Rodrigo, who has decorated the hostel to look amazing. An artist with a big heart, and lovely girlfriend Laila. Oh yeah, breakfast that was included was spot on, and Christina who cooks and lives here isba sweetheart.

My Montañita Spot

I have stayed at Mauna twice now while visiting Montanita and going to nearby Spanish school. Carlos who runs the hostel is always available, friendly and accommodating. The building is new, has a simple, clean and cozy design. I like the common area which has great wifi, hammocks, and tables for relaxing. There is a view of the ocean, it is close to town center, and they provide breakfast every morning. It is not a party hostel which I like. It has more of a higher end feel while also being friendly and chill. I recommend to those looking for a hostel meets hotel kind of concept.

“Un buen Lugar , solo falta mas atencion profesional.”

Lo bueno fue poco , pero consistente!
Me gusto la privacidad ! la gente de recepcion era muy buena y atenta Tito fue un buen anfitrion!
Lo malo fue mucho , pero no lo hace malo solo tratar mejorar!
El horario del desayuno estaba estipulado para las 8am , el primer dia no desayune pero el segundo necesitaba salir temprano porque mi bus salia a las 9 pero es lamentable que en la conica donde se preparaba el desyuno no existia nadie , gracioso pero cierto espere por mas de 15 o 20 minutos hasta que llegaron dos personas de cocina pero ya se me hacia tarde haci que decidi salir rapido pero no habiua nadie en recepcion jajaj a si que espere un poco hasta que llegaron , claro llegaban de fiesta a mi me dijeron ya a las 8 estan recepcion lo hace negativo porque yo gaste dinero extra en un desayuno como 7 dolares eh pagado por una habitacion 48 dolares que suponia tenia desyuno incluido cual no existio es lamentable porque siempre me hospede en este lugar cuando fue administrado por Kiwi Hostels pero ahora no me gusto por que la limpieza de habitacion era pobre la persona que lo hace solo limpia por encima de las cosas y no llega donde debe llegar , siempre me a gustado montañita para descansar a pesar de ser un pueblo de fiesta y estar en este lugar fue placentero pero negativo por lo antes contado aun a si volveria , pero si me gustaria que hagan cambios!

Increíble

Las personas del lugar son muy amables. Nos llamaron antes de nuestra llegada xq estaban preocupados (llovía y nos perdimos) y se preocuparon para que podamos llegar al lugar. El dueño del hostel preparo el desayuno se sentó a conversar con nosotras.

Genial!!

Estuve con mi pareja una semana y nos encantó! El sitio está muy bien ubicado, pues puedes descansar tranquilamente sin el bullicio de la fiesta pero a la vez estas cómodamente a cinco minutos del centro.
Las instalaciones son muy buenas. Un sitio moderno y muy ordenado.
El equipo del Hotel fue muy amable y a plena disposición.
Desde luego, un lugar muy recomendado para ir.
