Cloud Forest Lodge, Monteverde – A Wonderful Stay
From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were informative, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Their knowledge and friendliness immediately set a great tone for our stay.
The restaurant staff truly stand out. They are exceptionally polite and attentive—more so than in almost any restaurant I’ve visited before. Nothing feels like too much trouble for them, and their service really elevates the whole experience.
The food is magnificent, with an excellent variety of choices for both meat lovers and those who prefer plant-based dishes. For vegetarians, I found it to be a perfect place to stay, with plenty of thoughtful and delicious options. If you request any food changes the staff are so happy to help. Giving you options to help. While the restaurant prices are not cheap or overly expensive, it’s very easy to spend a bit more simply because the food is so good. Even if you only have breakfast at the lodge you will feel like you’ve eaten like a king or queen.
In the afternoons, they light an open fire, which creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. It’s incredibly relaxing and adds a special touch to the lodge experience.
The lodges themselves are very spacious, extremely comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The level of cleanliness is excellent and really noticeable. If you have any requests you can WhatsApp reception using a QR code that is found in your room. Excellent way to book a table for dinner or needing things for your room.
Overall, Cloud Forest Lodge is a beautiful, relaxing place with outstanding staff, fantastic food, and very comfortable accommodation. I would happily return and highly recommend it.

Very clean room. Staff is efficient and friendly. We had a great view into the cloud forest. Wish I could have stayed longer but definitely on the list if I rebook.

Heaven on Earth!
Monteverde is "Heaven on Earth" and the stunning Cloud Forest Lodge is the perfect place to enjoy it. Clean, spacious and relaxing rooms with private verandas. Each morning we opened the window and listened to the birds. A wonderful way to start anyday! Its fabulous restaurant has incredible views. The restaurant is the perfect place to watch the sunset. The property is beautifully maintained, the gardens are exquiste. Probably the biggest asset are the staff. The front desk staff provided a wonderful welcome and then continued to help with advice and bookings throughout our stay. They were thoroughly professional and always very friendly. The restaurant staff are excellent. Great attention to detail and humour, all while working a very busy restaurant. Costa Ricans are friendly, but the staff at Cloud Forest Lodge are on another level entirely. Bravo!

Nice stay in nice hotel.
Stayed for 5 nights here recently. Nice hotel with lovely public area views, and some nice - well stocked -
bird feeders. Amazing restaurant with really friendly and attentive staff and great meals every night including vegetarian. The bird guides we had were all excellent.
Sadly had to drop a review star, as we found the terrace view disappointing ( and we were in a deluxe Euphonia suite ) All we could really see was the back of the next block about 3 or 4 metres away.
However all in all, a nice hotel in a great location.

Monteverde is Heaven on Earth. The Cloud Forest Lodge is the perfect place to enjoy it. Clean, spacious and relaxing rooms. Fabulous restaurant with Incredible views. The property is beautifully maintained. Probably the biggest asset are the staff. The front desk staff provided a wonderful welcome and then continued to help with advice and bookings throughout our stay. They were thoroughly professional and always very yfriendly. The restaurant staff are fabulous. Great attention to detail and humour, all while working a very busy restaurant. Costa Ricans are friendly, but the staff at Cloud Forest are on another level entirely. Bravo!
