Zero flexibility - BEWARE.

I booked 2 nights just 4-5 hours ago, but then came to the realization that the bathroom was shared (among who knows how many guests), and decided to cancel. The king room included pictures of a bathroom, and the double bed room included "shared bathroom" in the title. It wasn't clear that both rooms shared a bathroom. In any case, as I am very pregnant and frequently need the bathroom, I requested a refund (I understand that they have a strict "no refund policy", which is honestly a red flag) but they made NO exception to my explanation. I am out $300 for missing a detail. Surely my brief window of having booked this room did not cause any issues... I would understand more if I had it booked for a while and potentially prevented other guests from booking the space. Seriously? Seems gross and scammy. And looking at the reviews now, I wonder how they received a 4-star rating on booking.com. BUYER BEWARE, as they say. Sadly pregnancy brain seems to have clouded my judgement. Lesson learned. STAY AWAY.

DO NOT STAY HERE

You are staying in a daylight basement and have to share ONE bathroom with up to 6 OTHER PEOPLE. You have to pay extra FOR THE BREAKFAST PART. DO NOT BELIEVE THE PICS, you are staying ONLY in the basement part and have to enter through the back door. It is no where near walking distance of the water either. My boyfriend and I left early (we were supposed to stay Saturday-Monday but left Sunday morning) because of how terrible it was. They also have a parrot upstairs that’s really loud in the morning, and there is only one shared tv in the common area downstairs. These owners should be ashamed, it is NOT A BED AND BREAKFAST IF YOU DONT EVEN INCLUDE THE BREAKFAST PART!! Needless to say, if I could give 0 stars to help prevent anyone from staying here I would. The people are nice but deceiving people like this online is unjust and horrible.

Non adequate service for the price. Poor information provided on website and bad communication with owner.

1. Absolutely not suitable for families with children staying longer then one night.
2. We didn't know we will end up in really cold basement. Based on provided information we expected a kitchen instead of a bar where we coudn't cook. We asked for the kitchen upstairs but the owner wanted us to announce her a day before we expected to use it.
At booking.com there are also pictures of owners rooms where guests are not allowed to enter.
3. Owner is a moody chinese lady who doesn't speak english. If you need to deal anything she sends her teenage daughter. She provided false information to us when we asked if there will be another guest in basement and she told us not, but in the evening there were three people coming in. Three in one small room with one bed might I add.
4. Double bed bedroom in basement is next to furnace that generates too much noise. We had to ask the lady to switch it off for night. This bedroom is without a window. Second basement bedroom we had was with window facing adjacent wall. Therefore we asked for change to upstairs bedrooms.
5. Two bedrooms upstairs are neat but the cloakrooms are full of owners stuff. When we were upstairs we didn't have free access to house. We had to text to daughter before we wanted to enter. We didn't get any key. We had to leave our shoes outside or take it upsatirs because the owner is very touchy about the carpets inside.
6. Garden is really small and access to basement door and door upstairs is through small passage besides the garage and along garbage cans.
7. All in all we didn't enjoy our stay in this house and we consider it really bad and expensive experience.

Skip breakfast!

Do not order breakfast here! They gave me boiled potatoes with the skin, corn, steamed vegetables, and garlic bread, and no coffee or anything to drink. The only thing edible was the egg. Pretty sure, they gave me leftovers of last night's dinner. The owner started vacuuming the front entrance a few minutes after I entered the house which seemed odd. The bedroom I stayed in was nice and the place was clean.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall, this house is absolutely unsuitable for families with kids and to be honest it is not even suitable for adults. If someone running a business like this, white carpet should not be put in the rooms. Or if you do so, do not complain if it gets dirty because no matter what you do white carpet will always get dirty. (We are very tidy people just to mention).
When you advertise a place like this on your website you should make aware of the following as House rules, so people could avoid what we had to go through.
Owner does not speak English. You will be communicating with her about 14 year-old daughter.
Shoes have to be taken off.
This place is not suitable for kids.
Bright white carpets in the room and on stairs so if you leave a mark you will be asked to pay for it.
You will have no keys so you will have to leave the house and get back at exact times.
You can sleep when they go to sleep because of the noise they make.
There are cameras in the house, but owner would still be following you everywhere.
So far, I have always thought that booking.com was a reputable website, and that it reassures you that if you book an accommodation here
