Enjoyable Stay with Great Value and Convenient Location
Riverfront Estate is a BNB located a mere 5 minutes from downtown Banff, perfect for travellers looking for an accommodation with everything within walking distance. Stayed 5 nights with my fiancée we enjoyed our room which was clean and clearly renovated recently. A comfortably sized bathroom with a good amount of towels as well as soap were provided. For the location and duration of stay the price for our overall stay was great, totalling $556.51CAD. Check-in was self-service, we received our code and room a day prior.
Despite having a full house at different points through our stay the noise level was minimal. Breakfast is self-served and is modest with fruit, breakfast cereal and pastries as well as coffee and yogurt. Milk and orange juice provided. We rarely encountered the hosts, a middle-aged couple, but when we did the atmosphere varied. At best a kind smile and "hello" and other times uneasy stares. Nonetheless our stay was enjoyable. This accommodation was such an important part of me and my fiancée's time in Banff I heartily recommend it. Special thanks to housekeeping who made sure we had clean towels as well as water throughout our long stay.

Disappointing
Rating: 1/10 – Very disappointing stay
Not sure if the woman we met was the actual host, but she was not welcoming at all when we arrived. While we were still in the parking lot, she was already telling us about not bringing shoes to the second floor — not exactly a friendly start. We weren’t even sure if she knew the correct number of the place she was managing.
When we got to the room, there was an insect on the bed, the side of the fridge door was dirty, and the floor had visible screws sticking out, which felt unsafe. The bedding and towels were all marked “Hilton,” which raised concerns about why they were being used here.
For breakfast, we were left with just one boiled egg and one muffin for two people, which was very disappointing. Overall, the stay did not feel clean, comfortable, or welcoming at all. I would never recommend this place — it definitely did not feel like home.

Great location, unpleasant caretaker
The location is a huge plus, right in the heart of downtown. Good value for money compared to nearby hotels. The bathroom had essentials like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, along with clean towels.
Breakfast was generous, with options like boiled eggs, bread, bagels, muffins, croissants, fruits, yogurt, and coffee.
The in-room Keurig coffee maker was a letdown - it came with only 2 coffee pods for a 3-night stay, which was insufficient for 2 adults. When I requested more Keurig pods from the caretaker, she seemed reluctant to provide them. Additionally, there was no creamer in the room, which was a miss.
Bedsheet and towel had a 'Hilton' logo - not sure how it got there

Excellent...fantastic value for money in downtown Banff
Absolutely brilliant location, just a few steps across the street into downtown Banff and for the price we paid was just sheer value for money when you look at what the other places were charging and how far they were from downtown. Communication before arrival was great, they sent us the key code which operates your room, front and back door, before we arrived. It is a bed and breakfast and you are staying in someone else's home whose rooms are downstairs and upstairs the 4 rooms are where the guest sleeps, so taking off your shoes is just a small request they ask. You do also have to carry your own cases up the stairs. We had the family room which consisted of 2 rooms with beds, our extra large double bed was so comfy and we laid our cases on the other so loads of room for us. Free parking outside in their back yard. Admittedly, looking at the building from outside looks a bit grim and could do with a clean but inside is absolutely fine, run by a middle aged Chinese couple who are very nice but don't really speak a lot probably shy and they just keep out of your way. Breakfast is basic, pastries, yoghurts, boiled eggs, coffee, juice etc but something to get you started each morning. They have a mineral water dispenser so you can fill your bottles/coolers up when you go out. Shower was great in our room, plenty of hot water. Its not the Ritz but it certainly did us very well for our 2 nights stay especially for the price and its location in downtown Banff. I definitely recommend this place and would return myself in the future.

A very humble yet very clean, and quiet! The best location!
The place is humble yet very clean, quiet and a great location. It is literally in the heart of Banff down town; walking distance to everything. The owner of the whole place was accommodating and nice. This place to stay is highly recommended! Here’s the view from my room
