Garberwirt

Great food in this typical Austrian restaurant. Sand fillet (walleye) and meal salad with chicken. Recommended

Super Inn in Hippach

We were at this place for dinner. Very nice inn in the center of Hippach.
We were very pleased with the food.
The service was friendly, especially the boss.
Can recommend this place at any time and will certainly visit it again.

Prima

Had dinner here one night. It is a real Austrian restaurant, so corny. But you can come here anytime. We could sit outside and we were fine there. Quiet location, away from the busy main road but within walking distance of our apartment which was on the main road. The food tasted good and the staff was very friendly.

Watch out for the Church bells

This is a nice little hotel, reasonably priced and easy to find. The food was really very good although you had to get there early to make full use of the salad buffet and the afters were a little unimaginative. A great sauna/ steam area although for some reason there was no soap in the showers. The room we had was excellent, big and spacious tho' strangely very little shelf space. I'd say go there but, try to avoid the rooms at the end we had next to the Church. For some unknown reason the villagers rang the damn things at 6am every morning and it was impossible to sleep through the din!

Good authentic austrian hotel

This was the second time we stayed at gasthof garberwirt. 5 years ago we stayed here in the spring to walk in the mountains.
We come to the zillertal for more than 20 years allready and stayed in various appartments and hotels. When we stay in an appartment we always dine at least 1 evening at garberwirt because of their authentic austrian cuisine. Thats also one of the strongest points of this hotel. Their food! Don't expect gourmet cuisine! You get here plenty of good and nutritious austrian food. So tasty meat and good potatoes and vegetables. All home made by the grandfather and his granddaughter of the family who runs this hotel.
That this hotel is run by one family is also a very strong point of this hotel. It makes you feel wellcome and at home.
The location is good in the centre of hippach. A small village near mayrhofen which is the center of the zillertall. For skiing the location is excellent because several busses stop in front of the hotel and brings you to the biggest part of the zillertal.
The room whe had was spacious with a seperate sitting area. The furniture is authentic austrian. The bed was slightly uncomfortable because it was too short and way too hard! But that can be also a question of taste. The bathroom was a bit too small compared to the size of the room. 2 televisions, but we didn't use them because they only had 8 german channels on it. Maybe they can change this in the future in this digital era?
The hotel also has a wellness area with 2 sauna's, an infrared sauna, a steamroom and a relax area. Which gives a wellcome relaxation after a long day of skiing of hiking in the mountains.
So overall this is just an excellent hotel if you look for comfort for an affordable price!
