nice, clean and tidy

We arrive in the morning but have to wait an hour and half for the room because the check in is since 12 o’clock. It’s so nice here, clean and tidy. The double room costs 600 ARS but it is pleasant and sunny. And clean. The shared bathroom is also clean and very nice. They serve sweet breakfast, , cornflakes with milk, rolls, cupcakes, dulce de leche, orange juice and coffee.

Very good value in a nice area

You will not find a better value property in a nicer area in Buenos Aires. Faultless wifi. Ample bathrooms. Nice outdoor patio/balcony. Breakfast is simple but filling.
Payment is CASH only. More hotel-like than hostel. No vibe about the place.
Overall score 86 out of 100.

Great stay in the heart of San Telmo

We really enjoyed our time at Hostel Carlos Gardel. We arrived at night and a representative met us out on the street and showed us to our room, as it was late they said we could do the proper check in in the morning which we appreciated. The staff are very friendly, the receptionist spoke very good English. Our room was very nice, quiet, comfortable and cozy. October in BA can be cold at night but we always felt nice and warm in bed. The shared bathrooms are clean with lots of hot water. Sweet breakfast included in the morning. The location is great 3 minute walk from the San Telmo market. Would recommend.

Great location just next to San Telmo Market

This small hostel is located right at the heart of San Telmo, perfect to visit San Telmo Market and just one block away form the San Telmo Sunday Street Fair.
The hostel is rather quiet. All the room open to a central location in the hostel, making if not very private. Also the hostel kitchen had no table or sitting area.

Pretty hostel room in San Telmo

After a small culture shock after arrival from Europe to Buenos Aires I found this hostel quite picturesque. There are no huge common places for the hostel stayers but the silence in your own room is relaxing after long flights. The room is small but comfortable. The air conditioning wasn't on when I entered the room and I didn't dare to ask for it from the reception for the fear I couldn't change the settings myself if it was too cold or loud. I could open the window to the street, though. It didn't help too much cause it was summertime. I guess, the winter season must be very cold in this room. The street noise did enter the room easily but it was new and interesting to me. Common balcons were lovely for spotting the street life underneath. Shared bathrooms were clean and nice. Breakfast was very basic but ok. There were restaurants and shops and a local market hall closeby for more food. Also public transportation was within reach, and the Florida shopping street, too, within a reasonable walking distance. No hard feelings after 3 nights here.
