Small hotel but comfortable. Nice breakfast.

Nice hotel - friendly receptionist. Smell of cigarette smoke in the bedroom but it didn't really bother me. Good-sized twin room, nice bathroom and good-sized balcony, comfortable beds and pillows. Restaurant was closed (mid-October) but served a nice buffet breakfast. Was able to park outside the front of the hotel, but I'm not sure in higher season where I would have parked.

They try really hard

So it’s a 4 star because they try hard. Parking is limited, but we got lucky, right in front of the hotel. They are not gracious people by nature, but do okay, upon check in. There is no elevator, so stairs… more steep, uneven, treacherous stairs with limited railing and narrow, curved steps. My gosh, are there no building codes in Eastern Europe! Door locks that challenge the mind allow access to pretty nice rooms. Sparse, and tight, but clean and comfortable. Good AC, fairly decent beds, and a quiet hotel allow for a good night’s sleep. An okay breakfast, and you get four stars. Smile, and put in an elevator, you get 5.

The owner and staff are the best!

+ Location was excellent for my purposes. The owner, Georgi, and his staff were very welcoming and helpful. They were gracious in resolving a payment issue which was because of a misunderstanding on my part. The included breakfast was fresh and served quickly and in a non-smoking space. A good value for regional travelers and rooms and shared spaces were very clean.
· Poor lighting on stairs, exhaust fan which was connected to the light in the bathroom was VERY noisy, key door lock was difficult & required multiple attempts to secure. Mattress old & tired & curtains & blinds were in need of repair. AC unit was noisy but did cool the room & cover the traffic noise. Balcony was nice but there were no chairs.

Good feeling stay in centre of Strumica

Staff of hotel will make you feel like you are at home. Rooms are clean and well maintened. Just 10 min walk from city centre, so you can have a nice sleep. They serve rich breakfast. Everything you need is in 5 min walk, from shop, bars, exchange office and restaurants.

Affordable, good stay - recommended

Stayed for a week at Ilinden Hotel in Strumica. Great welcome. Clean rooms. Peaceful area near the citycentre. Served healthy food portions. There are shops all around the hotel from grocer, ironmonger, laundry/drycleaning, cafeterias, firestation and also a church. Recommended!
