Top ubernachtung
We had a superstay in Bamberg at our stop to a wintersport week in Austria.
After graduating from university in the morning, we asked to check-in after normal times in the evening (9:30pm), which wasn't a problem at all. Bar was unfortunately closed, but after 30 minutes our door was knocked and the host of the hotel brought us two beers to celebrate our stay. How awesome!
Day after we got a maervelous breakfast in their renovated villa, with nice food and a piano to play :)
After leaving the hotel we got a phone call from the hotel that we forgot something, and just in time we could return to pick it up. Topservice!
Therefore I'd certainly recommend this hotel to visit! We'd do it again if we'll get nearby somewhere in future!

Solid kitchen with air up!
The portions are not very large.
However, it is noticeable that the menu has hardly been changed for a long time. There are always the same dishes, which seems a bit monotonous in the long run. A regularly changing menu or seasonal offers could make the restaurant much more attractive.
In addition, we noticed that the operation often seems annoyed, which is also clearly noticeable to her. Unfortunately, this clouds the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. A friendlier and more motivated service would significantly improve the overall experience.

We will come back if it is also a bit far for us.
The Bruckertshof has a beautiful ambience and I also think that in summer the beer garden is very nice. We had not reserved and were immediately allocated a place, which I found very good.
The liver dumpling soup was unfortunately totally salted I don't actually save with salt. But that was too much of a good thing. The liver was good and tender the sauce took some getting used to the potato mash well... Onion and apple were unfortunately missing but for 17€ you can not expect much either.
But despite everything we come back because the ambience is so beautiful and the service friendly.

I wouldn't call it a hotel
The structure is recent, from 2013. The room was a double single use with a comfortable bed, roller shutters (almost never present in Germany...) and a clean, spacious bathroom with a sufficiently powerful shower. Breakfast, in the building next door, was adequate. But I would expect a minimum of service from a hotel, a reception that takes care of check-in and any needs of the guest without having to call a mobile phone for example. Or a drinks machine, in case the guest is not satisfied with the complimentary bottle of water. Or even a lobby where you can relax. Otherwise there is no difference between hotel and B&B.... since these services are not present in this structure, I would not call it a hotel...

Lack of customer service / unavailability
On February 6, 2024, I booked an overnight stay with breakfast at the Hotel Bruckertshof in Bamberg from March 9 to March 10, 2024 for €129.00 via the HRS portal. The cancellation was free of charge via HRS until March 7, 2024, 11:59 p.m. On March 8, 2024, I asked HRS to cancel free of charge as a gesture of goodwill. Unfortunately, my wife suddenly became seriously ill and was unable to celebrate her birthday there on March 10, 2024. HRS communicated this matter to the hotel by email during the hotel's opening hours. There was no response. Various attempts by HRS to call were also unsuccessful. I then contacted the hotel by email and by phone, several times. Several messages were left on the hotel's cell phone. On March 9, 2024, more attempts to call followed, messages from both me and HRS. At around 2:15 p.m., an employee was reached by telephone. A free cancellation was requested. She referred me to her boss. A decision could not be made now, but next Monday, as she would be back then. I asked to speak to a representative. This was refused. A constructive solution was not possible, especially as the employee ended the call early. A few minutes later, this employee called back. We were informed that we were expected at the hotel. This is proof that the emails and messages on the mobile phone and the content of the call were not accepted and that the booking fee of €129.00 would be charged to my Visa card. It is certainly understandable that arrangements have to be made from here. Alternative solutions are therefore completely out of the question. I imagine customer service to be different. HRS was then no longer able or willing to mediate. I asked HRS to remove this hotel from the HRS forum. HRS has now noted this.
