A fabulous place to stay and relax

This lovely inn is an absolute gem and was a pleasure to stay at.
I appreciated the informative email ahead of my arrival (details on check-in/out, breakfast, amenities, local food and activity venues), as well as the concierge texting service throughout my stay ensuring easy and timely communication without interrupting my activities.
The room I stayed in, The Edey, is well furnished and beautifully decorated, as is the entirety of the inn. Having an in-room coffee machine and mini fridge with freezer was perfect for my early morning starts and plans to pack picnic lunches for my outings as I explored wonderful Wakefield.
The main sitting area on the porch was magical and offered cover while I knit during a rain storm, and the hot tub on the other corner of the porch offered the same comfort (and can be made more private, if desired, with some sheer curtains).
Each morning, I enjoyed my delicious and filling breakfast box (highly recommend) in my favourite spot on the property: at the cute patio table under the shade of the lilac tree nestled in the corner of the front lawn by the back garden entrance, where I enjoyed watching the passing traffic (busy, but quiet, with lots of cyclists).
The back garden is nicely landscaped and made for peaceful relaxing in the Muskoka chairs (also a hammock and a patio set). I took advantage of the provided beach towels and patio blankets in the cool evening air and enjoyed the stars above while staying cozy.
I briefly made use of the parlour and kitchenette and they were lovely, but with my short stay and overall sunny weather, I spent most of my time outdoors.
10/10 would recommend anyone to stay here (note that it does require the use of stairs), and I look forward to returning again.

Highly Recommend!

We just spent a few days in Wakefield and stayed at the beautiful Les Trois Erable. What a wonderful couple of days we had! The auberge is not only gorgeous but spotless. As we entered our room (the McLaren), we were welcomed with fresh baked cookies (so good), a pot of honey (made by their very own bees), homemade soap, and maple candy. There is a coffee machine with lots of choices of coffee pods plus a mini fridge in the room. The bed is so comfortable! You also have your pick of pillows from their 'pillow library'. What we loved was that we could walk everywhere from the auberge and the walk is so pretty, right along the Gatineau river.
We also used their kayaks and headed out on the water which was a lot of fun. Their gardens are beautiful and guests are welcome to enjoy them. We spent a lot of time under one of the turrets, reading and relaxing.
We ate at le Hibou and Kaffee 1870, both were delicious and the atmosphere fun with live music. We also had breakfast both mornings at the Blue Barn and their pastries are delicious!
We would highly recommend this quaint little auberge and will definitely love to go back! Shana and Bruce were wonderful hosts, very helpful and available if need be.

Lovely inn, great hosts, good location

This is a wonderful inn, but let me make clear from the beginning, it's not really a B&B - no breakfast included. (According to the website, you can get a boxed breakfast for a reasonable price.) But it's a lovely house, great location, and very agreeable hosts.
It's a grand old house (originally built as an inn in 1896), right across the road from the Gatineau River. The common rooms downstairs are beautiful, with lots of period furniture, hardwood floors, etc. There's a guest kitchen, but I didn't use it, so can't tell you much about that.
I stayed in the Edey room, which had a very comfortable queen-size bed, armchair, good storage for folded clothes etc. No closet, but enough hangers on pegs in a couple of places. Keurig-type coffee maker in the room. Little extras for guests, including yummy cookies and a tiny jar of local honey.
The hosts, Shana and Bruce, are very friendly and helpful.
Wakefield is a charming town and there are several good restaurants in walking distance from the inn, and the general store is right across the street. It feels like you're way out in the country, but it's not far from the autoroute and a short drive from Ottawa.

Everything Great Great Great!

I suddenly needed a room in Wakefield as I was coming from 6 hours away. This B&B is in the heart of the village. I wish I had more than one night to stay there because the rooms were so spotless, gorgeous, quiet and exquisitely decorated with lots of historical books and curious placed all around. I could have spent over a month taking it all in. The bed was soooo comfortable! Shana was the warmest, friendliest host ever and helped me get settled in. I had the best bath I have ever had in my life in the bathtubs of olden days where one could soak deeply and tranquilly. The hand-made local offerings in my room were greatly appreciated. I want to come back in the summer to enjoy the gorgeous porch areas. I could see that care and love were everywhere. The combination of historical charm and modern conveniences were absolutely balanced and beautiful! For the reasonable price, I was astounded at what I received!
